Nova Pooch Rescue Inc. (previously known as Newcastle Pound Pooch Rescue) is 100% operated on a voluntary basis and was founded officially in August 2011. The aim of the rescue is to save "at risk" pooches from various sectors (shelters, private surrenders) and ethically rehome them into permanent and loving homes.

Nova Pooch Rescue (NPR) was originally formed with the aim of ethically and responsibly rescuing and rehoming dogs that have been placed in a situation where they are at risk of euthanasia. NPR is operated by volunteers who aid in fostering and rehabilitating pooches readying them for a new, loving and permanent home.
