Bookings and Medical Administration Updates
In recent weeks, we've observed a rise in cancellations, which impacts both our business and our ability to accommodate other clients. With limited booking slots and a high demand (particularly our housesitting service), every cancellation affects our capacity as we often have to plan routes, schedule medical administration times, etc.
Unfortunately, when cancellations occur without sufficient notice, it's challenging for us to fill those slots after already accommodating a booking. Frequently, we receive requests for the same dates, and due to prior bookings, we have to decline. And if these prior bookings then cancel, particularly at such short notice, new/existing clients that were declined have likely already made alternative arrangements and have missed out on a spot.
As a result, we have had to change our cancellation policy to reflect this.
1. Deposits and Cancellations/Date Changes (Off Peak and Short Term)
From the 5th of May 2024, we will require all new/existing pet sitting bookings to be secured with a non-refundable 25% deposit.
Cancellations/Date changes anytime forfeit the deposit.*
2. Deposits and Cancellations/Date Changes during Peak Periods (or Long Term)
A non-refundable/non-transferrable deposit of 40% for high demand periods (public holidays, Xmas, Easter, etc) still applies.
Any bookings over 3 weeks in duration will require a non-refundable/non-transferrable 40% deposit.
3. Additional Stipulations (Off Peak and Peak)
In addition to the deposit system, cancellations occurring between 14 to 30 days prior to the service commencement date will forfeit the deposit, the full fee of the first day/visit plus an administration fee of $15.
Any cancellations between 7-14 days from the service date will forfeit the deposit, the full fee for the first two days of housesitting/visits, and an additional $15 administration fee applies.
Any cancellation that occurs within 7 days from the service date will forfeit 50% of the total booking plus an additional $15 administration fee.
4. Current bookings
Any bookings that have been scheduled will be receiving an updated invoice to reflect these changes by next Friday, and an updated terms and conditions form will be required.
We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation in providing adequate notice for any changes to your reservations. We do understand that unforeseen circumstances/illnesses/situations can occur and can result in cancellations or rescheduling of services. We will do our best to be understanding and accommodating in these circumstances.
Medication Administration Updates
Some of you may have noticed over the last few months that we have been implementing a 'Medicine Administration' fee for bookings, but we wished to make a public announcement to all future bookings and prospective clients.
Because of the high demand for our medical administration services, we have carefully considered our services and have decided that in order to reflect the skills/expertise of our pet sitters and the demand for these skills, a medical administration fee will apply for any pets who require medication for the duration of services. This fee will be $10/24hr period for each pet.
