Every now and then, I have a shoot that keeps me up at night—this was one of them! I was excited, but let’s be real—getting four dogs to cooperate, including three seven-month-old, male littermates (one with special needs), was always going to be a challenge.

Their owners had been waiting a long time to work with me, and after some truly gut-wrenching circumstances that led to them keeping these three boys, their expectations were high. I knew I had to deliver.

With clear communication, dedicated owners who respected my direction, three handlers, minimal distractions, a strategic rotation system and my absolute go-to treats (the kind no dog can resist), we created magic!

No leads. No tethers. No head swaps. Just pure in-camera magic.

There’s nothing more satisfying than nailing a shoot that's been living in your heads for weeks.

All the way from Russia, "Daytona" spent several months in quarantine before joining his Australian family. He will be a monumental part of their breeding program moving forward.

UPDATE - EDITING DELAYS & EASTER

During a photoshoot on Sunday my phone was glowing up and vibrating like crazy and I instantly knew something was wrong. My dad suffered an enormous heart attack however incredible fast thinking from my step mum and the tenacity of some amazing paramedics meant we have a second chance with him and he made it to icu. Fast forward - my desire to nurture dad through recovery and the sheer strain a full weekend of shooting has caused my body (despite lots of injections to try get me through it), I’ve made the difficult decision that I won’t be shooting Easter sessions this year.

To all my beautiful customers who came along this weekend, please bear with me as I juggle your orders and correspondence which I’m a little behind on and I’ll do my best to to return orders in the original estimated timeframes.

Chloe and Nikki, I hope you read this post and think “I wonder which shoots!” - As I tried to remain focused and calm and ensure that you still received the best possible cpd experience.

Please keep dad in your thoughts … or prayers if that’s your thing

A pair of adorable little faces from yesterdays sessions.

These senior sisters are going to be everlasting art on their owners very soon, with the photos being used as reference for the tattooist. Don't they look stunning on our new terracotta drop!

Lil' pop up studio ready to go! So pumped to shoot this new drop, new chair and matching ottoman tomorrow ..... I thought it was more of a chocolate when ordering, but it's terracotta which will be super versatile for many coat colours and a nice addition to the collection for those looking for more versatility. Some super cute faces calling in over the next two days, can't wait to share some with you soon.

At just 11 weeks old, "Berry" had one big agenda for her photoshoot.....Nap time!

This sweet little pup snoozed her way through the session, giving us the dreamiest poses without even trying. Who needs direction when you're this adorable?

Wrapped in cozy fluff and surrounded by pink perfection, "Berry" is proof that sometimes the best photos come when you're catching some Zzzs.

Berry has been a long awaited addition and is owned by one of the regions most talented groomers, so I have a feeling we are going to see some adorable and unique styles on her over the coming years.

Mark your calendars because Saturday, February 15th is going to be awesome. I’ll be back for a full day of capturing the cutest, quirkiest, and most heartwarming moments with your furry family members.

Here’s the scoop:
- 2025 will be a quieter year for shoots—aside from Christmas, I’ll only be picking up my camera a handful of times. So, if you’ve been dreaming of that perfect studio style image of your pet, want to celebrate your aging bestie, or have a wild idea you’ve always wanted to bring to life… THIS is your chance!

Important Details:
- A $100 deposit is required to secure your spot (this turns into a credit to spend on your images).
- This will be the LAST TIME I’ll be shooting at my current prices—which haven’t changed in years.
- Location TBC but I've been searching for air con, so at present, it looking like Woof Ave at Mount Hutton (just waiting on some measurements from the ladies)

We recently headed over to Woof Avenue for a day of content creation! They are in the process of ensuring their website is full of actual imagery created in salon - and there is nothing I love more than helping clients avoid using stock imagery.

Here are a few highlights from the day. This was so much fun but my gosh I was ithcy, I couldn't get in the shower fast enough - Appreciate your groomers - It's itchy, sweaty, back breaking, exhausting work..... and they deserve every cent you pay them!

Who's stuck for a last minute gift? Or maybe you just deserve a treat yourself!? We recently had the lovely Jai from Peach Print Co reach out and offer to print some magnets to show us the quality of their work.

Not only is this a local small business, but they donate $1 from every magnet sold to a local charity supporting those in need!

Jai will be working around the clock to meet those Christmas deadlines. Cut off is the15th for postage orders, or a spot later if you would like to pick up.

We've been quiet! But busy behind the scenes. Here's a little sneak peak from one of the more recent shoots. This was such a rewarding shoot and anyone who knows me well sure knows that rotti's hold a special place in my heart.

These adorable brothers missed the Christmas set up, but they still brought some Christmas Cheer when we ended their portrait session with a Christmas themed pic.

Baby Koda absolutely loved the camera, his big brother wasn't quite so confident, so we made lots of allowances to ensure his images resulted in relaxed expressions. This meant regular breaks, decompression with ball play, high value treats and lots of lighting moves to where he felt safest. He even brought along his favourite doggy daycare worker for emotional support!

CALL OUT to outstanding watch me grow participants.....

I will be shooting pure white on the 9th of November and don't expect to do so for several months after this date, so this is the final opportunity to finish watch me grow sessions.

There’s nothing quite like meeting a "rainbow pup"—those incredible souls who bring warmth, healing, and love back into a life after loss. This season, I’ve had the joy of meeting a few, like this gorgeous little pup "Georgie," the newest member of one of my client’s families. Georgie has already made such a profound difference, reminding us all that, even when it feels impossible to love again, or when the thought of another loss seems overwhelming, there’s always room for more love, joy, and new paw prints.

In loving memory of “Calico”.

This sweet girl spent her entire life giving to others and she continues to do so as her body was selflessly donated to research, to help train the next generation of veterinarians.

The bond she had with her owner was like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I know how incredibly broken she will be and all those who crossed her path in nursing homes visits over the years.

Sending love to her family 💕

(Calicos family chose to do her end of life session while she still had a little spark, so we captured her memories in the winter sun a few months back).

Introducing ''Ocean Valley'' - I feel so blessed to say that she is mine and took the opportunity to capture her on our 2024 Christmas set recently.

Ocean joined our family a few months back and after weeks on the street her beautiful foster carer nursed her back to health and then we took over from there. It's been so rewarding watching her improve in health, gain confidence and find her new way of life in our home where she is always warm, dry and fed. Her little personality is beginning to shine and we are seeing a much braver girl swipe things off the coffee table, climb, get the cat zoomies and spend most of her days relaxed enough that she can snooze from dawn to dusk.

She was rescued by Valley Cat Rescue - and selected especially for us by one of my longest standing and amazing clients (and rescue superhero) Kelly. We may be her 6th, but we're definitely going to be her last - welcome home, Ocean.

When it rains - it pours (and floods!). After some disappointing news at my surgical appointment on Wednesday, I received a call just hours later to say my studio had flooded. EASTER SHOOTS FOR 2024 WILL NOT GO AHEAD. All current shoots are being pushed back to allow us time to sort the damages. ~Maree~
