Hugo is in the house!

Such a chill guy, happy with my crew of cats, dogs and kids. Although he thinks chickens are dinner not friends.

This 4 year old boy is desexed, and booked for his vet check next week.

He has been living outdoors with other furry friends so will need some help with toilet training.

If you are interested in adopting Hugo send a PM with Hugo and we will send you a wait-list form

Once he has passed his vet check we will match him to the most suitable home. ❤️

The Beautiful Diesel is looking for a new home. This guy is not yet desexed and is almost 4yo. He is social with cats, dogs and children. He is located within 40mins of Newcastle.

Diesel wants to be your best friend so does get separation anxiety, he may prefer a home with another dog. He is a Miniature Dachshund with stunning dapple colouring.

If you are interested in Diesel please send through 'Diesel' via PM and we will pass your information onto the owner.

Assisted rehoming means the dog has not come into our care and we have not completed vet work and Wiener Crew Rescue is not involved with the final adoption choice.

When Tough Decisions Must Be Made

Sizzles Story 💔

Sizzles came to us on Sunday 13/01. We didn't know anything about him just that the owner needed him rehomed urgently, he had only adopted him on 21/12. The previous rescue said they wouldn't take him back and we didn't know the details around that either.

Saturday night Sizzles could not settle, after 6 hours of barking, crying and pacing we tried everything we could to help him rest, we then took him to the emergency vet at 11pm.

First thing Monday morning we called our vet and went in for an emergency consult. He was treated and we made a plan going forward including a consult with a behavioral dog therapist.

Monday afternoon we were able to place him in a foster home with no cats or dogs and a carer that was home most of the time. He was fine that night and the next day but was showing some signs of distress, we planned for a visit from a behavioral therapist ASAP.

Unfortunately when the carer went to feed Sizzles he started lunging at her hand and bit her leaving her with a wound.

Making the decision to euthanise a biting dog is one of the hardest choices a pet owner or rescuer can face.

While every effort was made to rehabilitate his aggressive behavior through training, management, and professional guidance, this situation was extreme and he was let down by humans.

If a dog poses a serious danger to others, especially after repeated incidents or when resources to ensure their safe management are unavailable, euthanasia may be the most responsible and compassionate choice. It’s a decision rooted in the safety of people, other animals, and even the dog itself, as living with uncontrollable aggression can be a life of stress and fear.

This decision was not made lightly or without consulting professionals, such as veterinarians and a animal behaviorists. Remember, this decision comes from love and responsibility, not failure.

Safety, compassion, and understanding must guide us, even in the most difficult moments.

Bringing Sexy Back!

Rosehip Vital for Dachshunds: A Game-Changer for Joint Health

As loving dachshund owners, we know how important it is to keep our long-backed, short-legged companions healthy and happy. One of the most common concerns for dachshunds is joint health, given their unique body structure and predisposition to back issues like IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). That’s where Rosehip Vital comes in as a natural and effective solution to support their mobility and overall well-being.

What is Rosehip Vital?

Rosehip Vital is a natural anti-inflammatory supplement made from 100% pure Rosa canina, a type of rosehip grown in Denmark. It’s packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and galactolipids (GOPO®), which have been clinically proven to support joint health, reduce inflammation, and improve immunity in dogs.

Benefits of Rosehip Vital for Dachshunds

1. Improves Joint Mobility
Rosehip Vital is especially helpful for dachshunds with arthritis or age-related joint stiffness. It supports cartilage repair and reduces inflammation, helping them move more freely and with less pain.

2. Prevents Back Issues
For a breed prone to spinal problems, Rosehip Vital can help minimize inflammation in the spine and surrounding joints, potentially reducing the risk of flare-ups.

3. Boosts Energy and Playfulness
Many dachshund owners report seeing their pets regain their playful nature after starting Rosehip Vital. The reduction in pain allows them to enjoy their favorite activities, like chasing balls or going for walks.

4. Strengthens the Immune System
The antioxidants in rosehip help strengthen your dachshund’s immune system, making them more resilient to illnesses.

5. Safe and Natural
Unlike some medications, Rosehip Vital is 100% natural and free from fillers or artificial additives, making it a safe choice for your beloved pet.

How to Use Rosehip Vital

Rosehip Vital comes in a powder form that’s easy to mix into your dachshund’s food. Dosage depends on their weight, so always check the label or consult your vet for the correct amount. Most dogs enjoy its mild taste, making it a stress-free addition to their daily routine.

Success Stories

Many dachshund owners have shared how Rosehip Vital transformed their pup’s quality of life. From easing stiffness in older dogs to aiding recovery after surgery, it’s a versatile supplement that truly works wonders.

Final Thoughts

Investing in your dachshund’s joint health with Rosehip Vital can make a world of difference. Whether they’re young and active or starting to slow down with age, this natural supplement supports their long-term health and happiness.

Because every dachshund deserves a life full of wiggles, wags, and adventures!
