As a veterinary nurse and horse owner I am always trying to prevent or treat medical problems in my animals. This is how Whoa Steady Neddy evolved, I stared making these nets to aid in the treatment of cushings in one of my ponies, while also trying the prevent colic in another pony. I like to keep my horses together as they are heard animals so it proved difficult to slow down one consumption whi
le also providing a constant source of food to another. I had tried a few different methods but found that the horses wasted most of the hay buy pulling out the middle of the round bale to get the the seed and then using the as a bed or toilet. So I began making some nets to use at home, I found them quite difficult to keep closed and what to do with all that extra rope. After a few years of using them and telling other people how good slow feeder nets are my farrier suggested I make and sell them. This got me thinking and soon I developed a self tying system for the smaller bags and then hit the market. Because the business has evolved from my passion for the care of horses my mission is to be able to give back to the horses. To educate horse owners about better feeding practices and the need for enrichment in a horses life.
