Echidnas are on the move! 🦔
Please keep an eye out for our prickly natives on the roads.
With so many echidnas on the move, we are sadly seeing more of our spikey friends coming through our RSPCA Wildlife Hospital after being hit by cars on our roads 😢
Just like this curious and adorable baby echidna who was found on the road at Cashmere without its mum, trying to burrow and protect itself from harm.
Thankfully, it was rescued in time! After a check up at our RSPCA Wildlife Hospital to ensure this little echidna hadn't sustained any injuries from road trauma, it was able to go to a wildlife carer until old enough for a release back into the wild ❤️
🚑 Our RSPCA teams are rescuing 27,000 animals, just like this baby echidna, every year in Queensland. To continue to save lives, we need to improve our capacity to care.
You can help protect the future of wildlife by helping build a Centre that can support proactive wildlife care through education, training and research, as well as emergency care. Find out more 👉 bit.ly/3IohCEE
