Dear RSPCA Noosa,
We wanted to share a heartwarming update on Sandy, who we adopted nearly two months ago. As you know, she came from a challenging background, and we're thrilled to report on her incredible progress.
Sandy has truly blossomed! She absolutely loves her daily walks to the wetlands and practically leaps with excitement when it's time for the dog park. Her transformation has been remarkable, and she settled into our home beautifully within just a few weeks.
Socialization with other dogs has been a key focus. She's gradually learning to play independently, rather than just chasing her dad. The dogs at the park have been wonderful teachers, and she's become quite the playful companion.
We were overjoyed when she initiated play with a toy for the first time! She's also mastered tug-of-war, though we're still working on her embracing fetch and holding a ball.
Sandy has brought so much joy and light into our family. Her happy barks fill our home, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have such a sweet and loving dog in our lives.
We've attached some photos from her recent adventures, and we hope you enjoy seeing how happy she is.
Thank you for bringing Sandy into our lives.
Warm regards,
Sophie, Sam, and Sandy 🐾

Meet Monty 👋
Not quite 1-year-old Monty arrived in our care as a stray without a microchip, and despite best efforts to locate his family he was never collected by his owners 😢

Even though he's had a tough start to life, Monty spirits remain high - he is the very definition of a happy chappy! And since arriving at RSPCA he has captured the hearts of our Team with his sweet personality, infectious doggy smile and zest for life 🐶❤️

Monty's dream home is a loving family who can involve him in their daily life. He would love big back yard with lots of toys to play with! He particularly loves enrichment toys like KONGS, puzzles and ice blocks to keep him happy and busy throughout the day.

This handsome dude loves the company of other dogs and is keen for a fur sibling, so if you have another pooch at home, be sure to bring them in for a meet and greet!🥰🐾

Could you give Monty his forever home this World Stray Animal Day? See his profile 👉 rspcaqld.org.au/adopt/search/animaldetails?AnimalId=996872 and begin your Tails of Honour today! 🏡

📢 Protect racing animals by having your say!
The Queensland Government’s 2025 Racing Review is your chance to ask for better protections for racing animals.

Significant animal welfare issues must be addressed when animals are used in racing. Too many racehorses and greyhounds face challenges such as catastrophic injuries, overbreeding, and limited rehoming opportunities after racing.

RSPCA Queensland is calling for stronger breeding controls, full-life tracking, improved rehoming efforts, and an end to painful racing practices.

Celebrating the end of an era 🐾
After 32 years on the Sunshine Coast, it’s bittersweet that we announce RSPCA Queensland will relinquish its lease of the Noosa Council facilities on May 31, 2025.

THANK YOU, to each and every one of our RSPCA Noosa Supporters ❤️ Your generosity and compassion have helped us care for over 33,000 animals in the region over the past three decades. We simply couldn’t have done it without you!

Through our Noosa Council contract, our passionate team of staff and volunteers have been able to deliver critical and unwavering support for animals across the state, and your support has helped us build a community of loving and responsible pet owners.

Over the years we have seen animal welfare improve in Noosa in leaps and bounds. 10 years ago, an average of 26 impounded animals came through our doors each month. A decade on, we’re now seeing around four new animals per month.

While our Noosa shelter doors may close, our commitment to protecting animals in the region remains stronger than ever. We remain committed to protecting animals in the region and our Inspectorate will continue to investigate cruelty complaints and support at-risk animals in Noosa and surrounding areas.

You can still make a lasting impact by supporting RSPCA Queensland’s vital work in the region, helping to fund our proactive animal welfare and advocacy initiatives, cruelty response, and community education efforts that prevent neglect and mistreatment before it occurs.

We wanted to share some key highlights with you from the past three decades. Since 2002 (since our records have been digitised) we’ve:
🐾 Seen over 33,000 animals turn to RSPCA for help,
🐾 Found forever homes for 17,216 pets,
🐾 Placed 9,684 animals in care from other RSPCA locations,
🐾 Helped reunite 4,326 lost animals
🐾 Raised $53,335 since 2020 from fundraising through raffles, donation boxes, garage sales and more to support the animals in our care
🐾 Seen our Noosa community raise $31,814 for Cupcake Day since 2020 and $38,236 for Million Paws Walk!

Here are just a few of our favourite moments caught on camera. We would love to see your tail-wagging RSPCA Noosa pics posted below! 📸

Thank you, Noosa, for all your support of RSPCA over the years. Especially to our volunteers, foster carers, and everyone who adopted a new family member and joined us in our fundraising efforts! Together, we made an incredible difference.

😶 There’s a possum in the roof! What should I do? 🤔
It’s late at night and all is quiet… suddenly there’s a scampering coming from above and you know a possum’s taken up residence in your roof!

It’s a common occurrence in the Australian suburbs, so it makes sense that it’s one of our top calls for help.

If a possum keeps you up at night, it might be time to find them a new home. You can set up a possum box outside on a nearby tree and you can also possum proof your roof (once they have left the building for the day) to deter future occupants.

Hello my name is Belle

💖I'm a sweet small little girl who will suit any family.

I have returned a positive test for FIV or feline immunodeficiency virus.
Living with an FIV positive cat, and accept the potential consequences of adopting this animal, as detailed.
An FIV-positive cat should not be adopted into a home where there are unvaccinated FIV-negative cats; these cats will be at risk of contracting FIV.

Hi, I’m Misty

Please meet Misty.

Sweet, attentive, graceful, despite her age, she acts like a younger cat.

Her fur is silky, soft with tones of brown. Once she settles in with you, Misty will be your loving companion for many, many years, if you provide her with the necessities that come with being a caring, responsible cat owner:-

* a small area in the home (known as a "launch room") to help her feel comfortable initially.
* a safe INDOOR LIFESTYLE, where no harm can come to her or the wildlife outside the home.
* a nutritious diet of quality dry biscuits and some yummy wet food to help with hydration.
* fun and entertainment inside your home e.g. cat scratchers, wand toys activated by human hands, warm window-sills to observe the outside world, a cardboard box or two and gentle cuddles

Single cat only home.

A FREE 2kg bag of ROYAL CANIN dry food
My desexing, microchip and vaccinations

✨🎉 One last lap of memories 🎉✨
2025 marks the last ever RSPCA Million Paws Walk, so we're celebrating 30 incredible years of walkies and wagging tails.

Share your RSPCA Million Paws Walk memories in the comments!

It all began in 1994 when the very first Million Paws Walk took place at New Farm Park in Brisbane, drawing 500 participants and their pooches, all dedicated to making a difference for animals in need. The event was a roaring success, sparking its expansion not just across the state but nationwide, and becoming a much-loved tradition for both 2-legged and 4-legged friends!

This year, for the FINAL EVER Million Paws Walk, we hold our dog bowls up in toast, celebrating more than 750,000 animal lovers and 1.6 million furry paws across the country who have walked with us over the past 3 decades, raising an amazing $17 million for animals in need 🎉🎉

Thanks 'a million' for being a part of our history! ❤️

‼️ Urgent: Our Wildlife is in Crisis – they need you NOW!
The devastating cyclone in SEQ has left vulnerable wildlife facing a critical challenge. In the wake of the recent cyclone and devastating rains, animals are suffering — many orphaned, injured, and scared 💔

The cyclone has passed, but the damage to wildlife is beginning to be seen. This is a heartbreaking situation and they can’t survive without your help.

Seabirds found across inland urban areas, far from their natural habitats, weakened by the harsh conditions. They are battling exhaustion, injury and shock.

Koalas, normally resilient creatures, are coming in weak, drenched and exhausted.

Tiny, orphaned possums, birds and other young animals have been left to fend for themselves in the aftermath.

These babies are terrified, hungry and in desperate need of care. We urgently need your help.

With your kind support, you can provide these precious animals with the medical care and rehabilitation they so desperately need. Your donation will ensure that orphaned babies receive the proper care, nourishment and nurturing they need to survive.

Every minute counts, and these animals need you more than ever. Your donation will directly provide the life-saving resources they need to survive and heal.

❤️ Please donate now. Together, we can help our precious wildlife and make a difference in this tough time 👉 bit.ly/4hzUNK1

Team bonding day ends with a happy adoption 🐶❤️
Aussie Broadband recently joined us for an RSPCA Corporate Experience Day – the only time where team building and animal care go hand in paw 🤚🐾

It was a day filled with hands-on activities enriching animals, including making toys, behind the scenes tours, learning about animal welfare and the day-to-day tasks of our Brisbane Animal Care Centre. And of course, lots and lots of puppy cuddles!

And best of all, little Maple made such an impact that she found her forever home 🥰 Not too long after her experience with us, one of Aussie Broadband’s team members returned with her family to introduce Maple, where it was clear they all fell in love. And it was no surprise when the meet and greet ended with Maple being made an official member of their family 🐶❤️
