Pups are weaning and loving Lyka food. They're running and playing with their siblings and toys, especially the chew toys since they’re teething.

We’ve increased socialisation through everyday life, lawn mowers, washing machines, television and talking. During school holidays, everyone is home more, so there's more activity for the pups 🐾🧡🤎

Week three is here 😍 Again, a lot has happened in a week. The pups are practising their wobbly walk and hearing and seeing 🧡🤎
It rained a lot this week, but I managed to take the pups out for some nature time, the sounds of nature and the smells of earth and grass. It's great for their brain activity and stimulating for them. With a storm rolling in and light rumbling thunder, I thought perfect for this type of socialisation to the world.

Leila and Theo's are two weeks old and I thought it was time to introduce the pups to Little Oasis Daisy, Leila's eldest daughter. Daisy's first litter is coming up soon. While Daisy had my full permission, she reminded me that she needs her mum's approval first and foremost.
Here's what happened.
Four main steps were involved;
1. Waiting with a friendly but distant approach
2. mirroring and patiently waiting for Leila's approval to move closer.
3. Enters the whelping room but keeps a respectful distance from the whelping box.
Waits for the final approval.
4. Final approval is given and Daisy sits meaningfully on the dog bed beside the whelping box and waits for me where I bring over a puppy.
Our family gives Eskimo kisses to our Cobbers, so it was sweet to see Daisy eskimo kissing the puppy
Daisy hasn't
tried going into the whelping box, she happily looks on. She's aware of the sensitive environment she's in. Daisy understands that this is a sensitive time for a dam and her newborns

Leila and Theo’s pups are two weeks old and what a difference a week makes 🧡 There's a lot of puppy fat on them. The pups are also starting to open their eyes. Give them another week and they'll start wobbly walking 🐾🐾🐾 There's going to be lots of laughs 🧡🤎

The pups went outside today for the first time. Even though they are still very young, the natural sunlight and outdoor environment are good for their development and senses 🐾

Leila and Theo's miniature puppies have been born and these little Christmas miracles are gorgeous! 🥰 I am amazed by Leila's natural instincts and she impresses me every day 🧡🤎🧡

As the Christmas holidays approach, things are getting even busier for us at Little Oasis. We are excited to announce that our Ridgy Didge Leila and Tegan Theo are becoming parents! 🧡🤎🧡Their puppies are expected to arrive at the end of the month. We are excited to meet our new litter of miniature Cobberdogs 🐾

I just wanted to say happy birthday to all the puppies born on this day one year ago 🎂 I remember from the moment these puppies were born I knew I had found my calling. While I was disillusioned from my corporate city job that had taken a back seat, as we decided to move to the country and I became a stay at home mum to support my geologist husband who travels 3/4 of the year. I never imagined that I would find myself breeding Cobberdogs but with a love for animals, this breed has been the most rewarding experience and I am excited for the many more years to come of bringing this wonderful breed into the lives of people who need and love them 🥰 🐶

Here's to many more years of happy Cobberdog puppy birthdays! 🥳

There’s a rule in our house that no dogs are allowed on the bed pillows. However, when I see our little Daisy Cobberdog lying on the pillow with such intent, it's hard to enforce that rule.
I can't resist, she’s just too sweet 🥰 🧡🤎

These little Cobberdogs are practicing safety by standing clear from the door 🐶🧡

They’re also tethered and the back wall of the seat offers extra protection and support in case of an accident similar to a rear facing car seat. They have plenty of room for them to lounge and this is a great way to travel 🤎🧡🤎

We have a new whelping room at Little Oasis Cobberdogs 🧡🤎 This special room is designed to give the dam a sense of control and security during whelping. It is separate from the rest of the household and other dogs, allowing for a quieter and calmer environment. After the first two weeks as the puppies grow and begin to open their eyes they will be integrated into the rest of our family home for more socialisation. The whelping room is fully climate controlled including underfloor heating for the colder months. This helps to keep the puppies warm without drying out their eyes and noses like traditional heating can. This whelping room is perfect for our dam Leila and her soon to be arriving puppies.
