⚠️important⚠️

It appears we made a little mistake when filling out the paperwork for our prefix application when numbering our preferences and we didn't realise! We have spent the last few weeks attempting to fix it however have been unsuccessful.

So instead of Hazluc, dogsQLD has granted us the prefix, Cinzac.

Nothing is different aside from the name change of our social media accounts.

When searching for us, you will now find us as Cinzac. Apologies for any confusion!

What a mammoth couple of days! We attended the Armidale All Breeds Kennel Club and Uralla & District Kennel Club show cluster sporting 5 shows across 3 days and went home with great results against absolutely outstanding competition.

Brashawin Lucid Dream was awarded

2 Best Of Breed
5 Minor Puppy In Group

And finally...

🎉 Minor Puppy In Show 🎉

A massive thank you to our group and general specials judge Mrs Julie Ireland, to all of her other judges over the weekend and also to Lucy's breeder Shan from Brashawin for entrusting this beautiful girl to us and for her extremely valuable help over the weekend. Was lovely to spend some time with Shan and Lucy's half brother Vlad.

As most of you may already know, we have been out of showing for a number of months to grieve a deeply personal loss and due to that, show training took a back seat, our plan with this set of shows was just to continue working with Lucy and putting some training into her, getting her some experience and working on her title while we were at it, never in our wildest dreams did we think this set of shows would amount to 5 class in groups or a class in show.

And with our very first class in show award, we truly ended our weekend with a bang.

Thank you also to our kennel partner, Maykala Griggs for the wonderful photo, but also for riding us so hard the last couple of weeks. All of the effort has truly paid off. With Zac handling 8 shows in 2 weeks, Lucy has been taken half way to her championship title at 8 and a half months old.

We have a feeling next year is going to be a big one as she continues to gain experience and mature!

Here’s a quick little video of our little Lucy cuddling with May when we were visiting them last week. Our girls love to have a cuddle with their people ❤️

These are old videos but I think it perfectly sums up the emotions we all felt when we first got into this hobby and now feeling a sense of pride and relief from Hazel’s accomplishments and her coming into her own.

We finally got around to submitting all of our paperwork!

It’s been a difficult couple of months with the passing of my mother and tackling the grief that has come with that but seeing that paper with Hazel’s conformation title and seeing it in person after earning it while my mother was alive makes me miss her more.

She would have been proud of what we have achieved even since then with SprintDog.

And better yet I’m proud of us and proud of our girl for doing it.

Battle of the states results are out and while we couldn’t be more proud of our girl for ‘winning’ top spot, it’s actually one that should be shared!

Battle of the states only had access to results up until the October SprintDog trial and since then, all of our Yakutian Laika’s have gotten faster!

Hazel (Ch MydnytBlue Talk Of The Town N.SPRD) finished her run in 9.16 seconds with a speed of 39.3kmph

Hazels sister Tsarina (Ch MydnytBlue Somethintotalkabout N.SPRD) also sped up significantly from her previous run and also ran the course in 9.16 seconds at 39.3kmph!

Our girls have done exceptionally well and while Hazel is listed as the fastest, our girls are tied for the top spot! And we think that’s really cool.

They are proving to be exceptional sport dogs so far and we can’t wait to dabble in other sports with them.

The girls dad Duffy (Junior Champion of Slovenia Aust Ch Duff Diament Jakucji) also got faster on his second run with a run of 9.26 seconds at 38.88kmph! This weekend he has a chance to title in SprintDog and be the 4th after his son Atlas (MydnytBlue Talkinginursleep N.SPRD), which will be his third title if he succeeds.

Congratulations to the owners of our dogs in this category, it was absolutely wonderful being able to compete with you and be a part of the history of the breed in this country, together.

Some fantastic efforts from our beautiful dogs and they just had the best time.

Thanks to Battle of the states for your hard work recording scores, and to the SprintDog team and volunteers for your hard work running trials. We are blessed to be able to compete in this wonderful sport and appreciate your hard work.

YAKUTIAN LAIKA

The fastest Yakutian Laika hailed from Beaudesert KC, winning the category with a time of 9.31 secs. Well Done!

I think something we often tend to do when we have new puppies especially when you have a puppy that you want to show, is forget that the process of growing up isn’t always level or pretty which is what we have had the absolute joy and privilege of enjoying with our younger girl, Lucy.

Hazel for example had us in a dead panic.

Once Hazel turned 11 weeks old she began to go rear high quite quickly, and that rear didn’t come back down from outer space until she was almost 12 months old.

Straight rears in this breed specifically are a common breed issue and we have done nothing but spend Hazels life furthering the research and knowledge we already did to further educate ourselves so we could take a deep dive into understanding structure, and type. Not just for the breed in general, but also for our Hazel. Knowing where she needs improvement is a strength and skill that has been drilled into me from the beginning and one I highly value, but when I was a new puppy owner, before our kennel was even a concept, I had hard lessons to learn and mental hurdles to overcome.

So many times I’d be panicking about how high and straight her rear was and Maykala told me to trust the process, close my eyes and hold on for the ride. A sentiment Hazel’s breeder MydnytBlue Kennels also agreed with, because sometimes all you can do is trust the process.

And look at our girl now.

She’s slowly maturing into that adult dog we envisioned.

Suddenly, she has some angles to work with.

So to puppy owners, I know it can be hard when they grow like this but give them time. Around 8 weeks of age is usually a good indicator of what your adult dog will look like and you should keep faith things will be ok. It helps to have experienced people around you who can look objectively at a dog and provide both fair critique and advice where it’s needed.

We are blessed to have had mentorship to guide us. Raising puppies is not easy. Until next time, enjoy a meme and a photo of Hazel today, just after she has had her junior coat drop 😂 she’s naked

So bloody proud of this dog and what she has achieved.

Hazel gets faster and faster at every trial and tonight on her third trial she and her sister Tsarina both threw down a run with the exact same speed clocking 39.3kmph

By positioning in the catalogue, Hazel is now the first Yakutian Laika in Australia to earn a SprintDog title, but also a sports title for this breed in this country, period. And a major congratulations to those who are also out there earning special titles with your dogs and celebrating, it was wonderful to see!

So Hazel will get to now be known as Ch. MydnytBlue Talk Of The Town N.SPRD (pending dogsQLD)

So many great things in the works for these dogs and I can’t wait to see the future unfold, it is so promising.

Thanks to Cindy for your hard work hand making this beautiful Rosette and the smaller ribbons for all of the Yakut owners in honour and rememberence of Michelle Hutchings, a dear friend to us and the woman who bred all three of the young Yakutian Laika who earned a title last night. They fit beautifully right alongside the SprintDog ribbons ❤️

She would have been smiling down on us all last night as May handed them out privately just before we packed up to go home.

Congratulations again to all, but especially to my Yakutian Laika fam and especially to our beautiful little lady Hazel ❤️ this is just the beginning, I can’t wait to see what she wants to do next. For now, a happy snap of her ‘flying’ at the last trial at Beaudesert.

Nothing to see here, just some Yakutian Laika and a big old pile of ribbons, the photographer was amused part of the Yakutian Laika show team had a crack at one of our biggest shows to date at the Royal Queensland Show ( Ekka ) and their dad Duffy took best of breed in both shows, with brother Soren owned by Ash-leek Thomo in reserve dog challenge and sisters Hazel and Tsarina each respectively taking a runner up best of breed and bitch challenge across the 2 shows, getting to watch Hazel's dad (owned by Brandon at Rushinround kennels ) go in for group was a treat

I know for all of us it was a bittersweet day, and that if they could, both our mums would have been there cheering us on from the ringside. They would have been so immensely proud of us all. Michelle for seeing dogs she bred with her son at the other end of the lead out there strutting their stuff in one of Australia's largest dog shows, and my own mum was also always proud of our show achievements. We miss them dearly, loss seems to be felt a little deeper when you're doing something you know they would have loved to witness.

Brashawin Lucid Dream aka Lucy is such a super star with her free stack and toleration of body handling to adjust her where required. Recently, we have begun working on her gait on the show lead. This is her 3rd time gaiting on lead, can’t wait to see where the training takes her and to see her improvements in time! Handled by us and video’d by our kennel partner/co-owner, May. apologies as Facebook may butcher the quality.
