Did you know our local vets are seeing a worrying increase in Parvo cases in our area.
Parvo is a very serious and highly contagious virus that is expensive to treat and sadly has a very high mortality rate even with treatment.
If you have a pension or health care card and your dog has not been vaccinated in the last 12 months please come and see our AWL NSW vets for a free dog (or cat) vaccination.

Did you catch tonight’s episode of The Dog House? This week our Kemps Creek Shelter are helping Shoalhaven Animal Shelter find a loving home for a dog in need.

Sometimes the number of dogs ending up at our local council shelter through surrenders or as unclaimed strays can be overwhelming and so AWL NSW is happy to assist when we can.

A big thank you to the organisers of the Shoalhaven’s Thrive Together Fair that was held today. Great to see so many organisations joining together to help those in need in the Shoalhaven.

The Shoalhaven branch of Animal Welfare League NSW assists our local homeless with their animals by offering free Desexing, vaccinations and microchipping as well as providing food and bedding.

If you are homeless and in need of assistance with an animal contact the Shoalhaven Homeless Hub and they will assist you with a referral for our services.

Our Pets of the Homeless program is still running despite Covid, but in a slightly different format.

We are still offering free Desexing, microchipping and vaccinations along with flea and worm treatments to Shoalhaven residents who are currently homeless but it is through a voucher system rather than a monthly vet clinic.

To qualify you will need to be referred to us by the Shoalhaven Homeless Hub or other similar organisation. Simply contact the Homeless Hub on 44232804 and they will pass your details on to us and we will contact you to organise any nescesarry vet work.

A reminder that our monthly Pets of the Homeless vet clinic for those who are without permanent accomodation will be held this Thursday 27th February from 10am-11:30. At the Shoalhaven Homeless Hub 27 Junction St Nowra.

We provide our local Homeless with assistance with their pets by providing free desexing, microchipping and vaccinations as well as flea and tick treatment and worming. Pet Food is also available.

If you are currently without permanent accomodation and need assistance and have not attended the Animal Welfare League NSW Homeless vet clinic before please call in to the Homeless Hub office and speak to one of their friendly staff when you arrive
prior to seeing the vets.
