This month has more in stock then just heart worm awareness month!
This month is also #activedogmonth
So how can you keep your dog physically and mentally active?
Walks and outside time is a great way to keep your dog both mentally and physically active. The walking/running keeps their muscles stimulated while all the different smells, sights and sounds keep their mind active. Ensure that your dog is up to date with their vaccinations before taking them outside. If you are unable to walk your dog, there's no shame in hiring a pet walker to help you out, or try some of these "at home" activity's!
Training your dog, different enrichment toys such as snuffle mats, snuffle balls, old notted towel toys, etc and fetch are just a few great ways to keep your dogs body and mind active πͺ
When a dog is bored you tend to see behavioural issues such as hyperactivity and over excitement, destructive behaviours and self mutilation (like overgrooming, biting off nails ect.)
Which is why it's so important to raise awareness on different ways to keep dogs active π
