I am not a cat breeding professional. Suprised by that comment? Well it's how I feel about what I do. I am a successful breeder. Yes, absolutely. I am well known, my cats do well at shows and I have so many happy owners who have adopted from me. But professional? No. It's my hobby. My passion. My life's work really. It's not my profession. How do you describe being a cat breeder? Do you see it as a profession or something else?

I got a question in my New Cat Breeders Club and I thought I would share my reply with everyone. The question was about someone haggling on the price of a kitten.

“if anything makes you feel uncomfortable then that’s not the place for your kitten. They are not cars or furniture. They are a life. If something makes you feel off then you can say I am sorry I don’t think I have a kitten for you. And not feel any guilt. You don’t owe strangers any kind of feelings. We can be good people by making the right choices for our cats. We don’t have to try and make other people happy to be good people. “

I have put a lot of time and energy into ⭐️Cat Breeding For Beginners⭐️. It's a passion project that's for sure. I've been part of the Cat Fancy for nearly twenty years and I have seen amazing things and terrible things. I have been treated with kindness and friendship and I have been bullied and attacked. I have found people willing to give their time and knowledge and had others turn me away.
All of this experience has led me to today. I am in a position to help others and that is what I am doing.
I want to help new breeders have a better experience than I did. I wish that they didn't have to go through the negatives but I know that they will face hardship and drama. I want to help empower them to deal with those things and give them a place to go for positive support. I don't want them to feel hopeless and give up on their breeding dreams. I've seen it too many times.
All of this leads me to my main objective. I want to teach people, right from even before they have that first litter, to be better members of the cat fancy. To be positive not negative, to help each other, to enjoy our shared hobby and to take better care of their cats.
