The NEW CAT BREEDERS CLUB is a wonderful and supportive space. We members from all over the worlds at all stages of their cat breeding journey. We stay connected with emails, Q&A's, Masterclasses, Online Meet-ups and our AMAZING members only Facebook Community.

My Newbies love being able to get help when they need it from me but also from each other. Every month they are learning and updating their knowledge as cat breeders and the changes I see in them as they grow makes my heart sing!🩷

There has been some of the worst online bullying I have ever seen in the cat fancy in the past week or so. It would be unacceptable in a corporate environment. It would be unacceptable for school children to behave like that. Yet here we are with people behaving like trash.

👉WE DO HAVE TO GET ALONG FOR THE SAKE OF OUR COMMUNITY

There has been many rumours circulating and we have been choosing not to buy into these. However, as some may be getting distressed hearing the rumours and getting confused by who we are, we wanted to address a few things…

The Oz Cat Club is a charter club of Loving Cats Worldwide (LCWW). It is not part of LCWW. It is a separate independent body in Australia. The Oz Cat Club is hosting Steven Meserve and the Catstravaganza at the Oz Feline Fair.

The Oz Feline Fair is the creation of 3 Australian chicks that own and operate the parent company CatJAC Events. 3 women that dared to dream of creating a new and exciting cat convention, not ever anticipating the negative backlash they would receive.

We ARE a completely separate entity to LCWW and are a registered company in Australia. All monies from cat exhibitors, vendors and ticket sales are being received and held in Australia, and in alignment with Australian Consumer Law, refunds would be given in the instance that the events did not proceed for whatever reason.

Our events are about creating a fun and positive experience for cat lovers, and it saddens us that we even have to address this negativity.

We will not tolerate any online bullying of any person or rumour spreading about any business, including ours. None of us knows exactly what another person is dealing with behind the scenes. Trolling and slandering a person online can greatly impact their mental health and too often these days ends tragically.

Small business owners know that starting and maintaining a business is difficult. Surviving as a small business in Australia right now is even more difficult! Having a public event celebrating an animal (cats!) that many people have strong negative opinions about is also very difficult! Everyone has difficulties! We are all just trying to do the best we can to make something amazing!

Please consider this before you share rumours about us and our events, or about another person or business. Such things may directly and negatively impact another small business.

Here is a great practical tip for cat breeders!! We all have lots of litter trays to wash 🧼 but it can be such a pain to haul them back and forth to where you wash them out. Especially BIG trays. That is where my wash station on wheels comes in.

I love the people I have met and helped since setting up Cat Breeding For Beginners.

🐱It's a passion project that's for sure🐱

Let me tell you how I got here. I've been part of the Cat Fancy for over twenty years and I have seen amazing things and terrible things. I have been treated with kindness and friendship and I have been bullied and attacked. I have found people willing to give their time and knowledge and had others turn me away.

All of this experience has led me to today. I am in a position to help others and that is what I am doing.

I want to help new breeders have a better experience than I did. I wish that they didn't have to go through the negatives but I know that they will face hardship and drama. I want to help empower them to deal with those things and give them a place to go for positive support.

I don't want them to feel hopeless and give up on their breeding dreams. I've seen it too many times.

All of this leads me to my main objective. I want to teach people, right from even before they have that first litter, to be better members of the cat fancy. To be positive not negative, to help each other, to enjoy our shared hobby and to take better care of their cats.
