Happy retirement 👑
Happy Retirement to Valour Road!👏
Celebrating one of WA’s toughest and most beloved horses. This outstanding galloper's longevity, bravery, and incredible ability have given his owners an unforgettable journey.
From winning the Magic Millions 2YO Classic on debut to clinching the G2 Karrakatta Plate in just his second start, Valour Road has been a champion from the very beginning. His winning ways continued right up to his eight-year-old season, with 11 victories, all but one being black-type races!
Valour Road also contested five Group 1 races, including a memorable interstate raid in South Australia, bringing joy and pride to his connections and the dedicated team at Simon Miller Racing.
Known as Val Val around the stables, for regular strapper Eesha De Silva the day has been bittersweet.
“He was a true gentleman in the mornings. He would stop at least 5 times on our way to the track because he loved watching all the horses go past,” said Eesha.
“He loves to headbutt and I think everyone has copped an infamous Valour headbutt at least once, but we loved him no less! Definitely won’t be the same without him around but we are so overjoyed that he has retried happy and healthy.”
Enjoy your well-deserved retirement, Valour Road, and thank you for the great memories!
