Happy New Year to all our amazing clients and their owners šŸ˜‰

Dale is back into the swing of things after a well deserved break. He is absolutely flat out atm, so please bear with him if he takes a bit longer to reply to messages and calls šŸ˜Š

Also, as some of our clients already know, Dale has upgraded his vehicle and has now got a fully enclosed, insulated trailer salon! This means, he can now look after all his 4 legged clients needs, in comfort regardless of rain, hail or shine! šŸ˜Ž

And just a reminder to please try and book as far in advance as possible to help secure an appointment. It is now the busiest time of year and spots are taken really quickly šŸ˜Š

As a professional dog groomer, I have seen and heard it all. Please read and share this, as we all know someone who has a dog that gets groomed. Sometimes people arenā€™t aware of what we deal with.

1. Respect my profession. I do a physically demanding, and sometimes disgusting job. You bring your pets to me because you canā€™t or donā€™t want to groom them yourself. I choose this job. I didnā€™t get ā€˜stuck with itā€™. Please donā€™t look down on me for my career choice.

2. Getting bitten is NOT ā€˜part of my job!ā€™ If your dog bites, TELL ME. It hurts, it can cause loss of income, and it can even end my career. If you know your dog bites and you didnā€™t tell me, youā€™re liable to get fired and I will warn surrounding groomers of your dog to protect them from injury.

3. Donā€™t ask for a discount.
This is my salary. My livelihood. How I put food on the table & pay my bills. You wouldnā€™t want to be paid less at your job because someone didnā€™t want to pay what your work is worth. It is your choice to bring Fluffy for grooming. It is your choice if you have more than one dog. Iā€™m still doing the same amount of work. I should not have to take a pay cut for these reasons.

4. Please call or text to cancel or reschedule your appointment as soon as possible. Donā€™t ā€œNO SHOWā€. If you donā€™t show up, I donā€™t get paid. Please respect my time and give me the courtesy of a call or text so I have a chance to fill the appointment slot.

5. Donā€™t call or text me in the middle of the night, Sunday morning, public holidays etc to make appointments or general enquiries. Please only contact me out of hours if you have an issue about attending a booked appointment.

7. Please donā€™t expect me to de matt your pet. If you donā€™t brush your pet or bring them frequently enough, Iā€™m not going to put them through the unnecessary pain of de matting them so you can keep them fluffy. Iā€™m not in the business of harming animals for the sake of vanity.

8.Donā€™t arrive too early for your appointment time. I may still be working on a puppy, or an anxious dog, or even a biter, who really needs my full attention for everyone to have a good & safe grooming experience. I may also be working on a dog aggressive dog that needs clear air between appointments. I schedule to accommodate these things, please respect my schedule.

9. DO NOT SHOW UP EARLY FOR PICKUP!!!! This one is super important! I may still be working on your dog. If you show up early I may not be able to safely complete your dog. I work with extremely sharp tools and that combined with an over excited dog, can lead to an accident. It also means I now have to manhandle your dog to keep them still whereas until you arrived early they were standing/sitting patiently and focused on the grooming.

10.Please donā€™t moan if thereā€™s a price increase.
Everyone deserves a raise. Iā€™m no exception. My time and knowledge is valuable. Please donā€™t undermine that by complaining about my prices.

Dog groomers deal with a lot physically, emotionally, and mentally doing what we love. Please donā€™t make it harder by being ā€˜that client ā€˜. Common sense & courtesy cost nothing but, are priceless.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT brought to you by the very handsome Gryff:

There have been several recent outbreaks of PARVOVIRUS in both Southern & Northern suburbs.

Keep an eye out on your furbabies and most importantly vaccinate them to give them to best chance.

Here are symptoms to look out for:

Some of the signs of parvovirus include lethargy; loss of appetite; abdominal pain and bloating; fever or low body temperature (hypothermia); vomiting; and severe, often bloody, diarrhea. Persistent vomiting and diarrhea can cause rapid dehydration, and damage to the intestines and immune system can cause septic shock.

AT ALL TIMES, SEEK URGENT VETERINARY CARE.

Stay safe Puppers šŸ¾
