Tezz and Boss wishing you a Greyt day ππ
Thanks Elsa & Zena for the thoughtful and fun gift. Sammy & Tezz wanted to take it to Nannie's to open. Tezz loves puzzles and FOOD! π

Dillon says big thanks Elsa & Zena for his new toy your very talented hoomum made for him.
Thanks Elsa & Zena for a loan of the Puzzle. Tezz took it along to Nannies tonight to show Nannie how it's done. The added challenge of keeping it on her bed made it more fun π
Dillon enjoying his new grass π
We went with Palmetto (St. Augustine Buffalo) from Greenacres Turf Group and so wrapped with how its taken.
Past foster Pepper slotted back into our breakfast routine with ease (green collar). This video is in realtime, I thought it must have stopped a couple of times because they where staying so still and focused. I have my back to them most of the time so its helpful to film them and watch it back to check everyone is comfortable. It takes me about 10 minutes to make up their feeds and they just wait patiently like this and get little rewards for being so good while they wait. Such good puppies π€©π€©π€©π€©
#training
We've been amazed by Dillon's improvement over the past few weeks. He is putting on weight and his coat is shiny again. It could be a coincident but there are three changes that occurred.
1. The weather has cooled.
2. We completed his garden makeover.
3. We started feeding him toast with vegemite and cheese for breakfast.
The weather change is self-explanatory. His garden makeover has provided a new and improved environment which offers enrichment. That leaves the vegemite and cheese toast. His spirit had been good but he was wasting away before our eyes and getting him to eat was a real struggle. His fur-godmother Lisa was cooking him extra special meals and we were trying everything we could think of. He would be enticed for a few days then just say nope not eating that.
My breakfast staple is toast with vegemite and cheese and I offered him some, he ate it and was looking for more. Every day since he has finished two slices of wholemeal toast with vegemite and cheese and once he has had that he continues to eat other food throughout the day. I have since been told the vegemite stimulates his appetite and once he has eaten something he feels better and is looking for more. Who would have thoughtβ¦β¦within a week the change was so noticeable and he continues to do well.
While we are on the subject of diets I thought I would mention that I have recently added some information to our website regarding what we feed our hounds under the HOW-TOS tab: https://www.fastfriendsrr.com/diet

The Balls arrived yay!
Hereβs the gangs first try using the pool as a ball pit.
JJ, Tezz and Boss dove straight in searching for kibble. (Iβve sped up some of the video for shorter viewing).
Sammy has a gentle nature so she just worked her way around the edge and we added something tastier for her.
Dillon enjoyed the challenge and ate more than he has been which was awesome!
Itβs easy to clean because you can just add some soap and water to the pool when they are finished to rinse the balls clean, empty and dry ready for next time.
It was great to see JJ and Tezz take the time to chew their treasures as they normally speed eat. I loved hearing them sniffing, watching them stretching and moving to find the treats. So I would say itβs been a great success providing them with mental stimulation, exercise and fun. Definitely a good use for the pool in the winter rather than packing it away. Before you rush out and buy some balls and a pool if you don't already them I have another great idea about what to use which I will share on the weekend
Sensational cool morning for an outing to Zoomie Land with Dillon & Tezz ππ
So grateful to have this time with our pups π

Grooming Tip
When brushing your greyhound to keep the experience enjoyable for them don't brush over their spine. Instead to brush that area gently roll their coat to the side, you want to avoid the bumps π
.....and if I can't see any bumps it's a good indicator that they are overweight and I need to change their diet. Check the comments for more info.
Thanks Lisa for the new grooming tool, its great.
