I’ve learnt so much from the amazing, at the recent, 3 day Easy Peasy Puppy Instructor course. Steve flew all the way from the UK to AU, to talk about puppies for 3 whole days!!! It doesn’t get better than that! Can’t wait for this weekend’s puppy classes, my new puppy students and their pawrents, are in for a treat 😁🐶🐾

Shadow is a 9 month old German Shepherd with great manners thanks to exceptional work by another awesome trainer at Pawsitive Animal Training AU. It’s my pleasure to take over training and help prepare him for an SES assessment in three weeks time where his skills will be put to the test and it’ll be decided whether he’s got what it takes to become a tracking dog with them.

When we remove egos from dog training and instead work together with other trainers we get what’s best for both dogs and their people.

WAAT Dogs are excited to announce our group training program for Term 2. These programs are designed for Assistance Dogs in Training, with the aim of these classes to produce calm, resilient dogs. That means this training is also suited to prospective therapy dogs, visiting dogs and anyone who wants a fantastic dog by their side.

Yesterday we went on a lovely rucksack walk with Susie, along with her mum & sister. The weather was perfect for it and Susie was able to lead the way. Lot’s of sniffing, chewing roots and fluffy tree bark, digging small holes for treats and Susie decided to walk into a lake to check out some frogs! It was a lot of fun for everyone 🐾

Puppy socialisation is NOT just about playing with other dogs.

In fact, too much uncontrolled exposure to other dogs can cause so many unintended consequences.

If you have a puppy, make sure you try to work on ALL aspects of socialisation, as listed in the bottom graphic.

WA Wildlife is thrilled to announce that our new training course, Wildlife Medicine for Veterinary Professionals: General Practice Edition, has officially launched!

This online training course is open to veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and trainees in both of these professions. Thanks to sponsorship from WWF-Australia, the training will be free of charge until October 2023.

This training will provide a solid knowledge base for the treatment of Western Australian wildlife species that may present to general veterinary practices. Content includes safe handling techniques and husbandry, triage and first aid, viability assessment, euthanasia, referral, and management of wildlife emergencies such as bushfires and oil spills. Also included are downloadable in-clinic resources such as a wildlife admission form, triage guides, physical exam quick reference charts, and an interactive drug dosage chart. Practical training sessions will also be available on completion of the online content.

🧡Meet Mr Snuggle🧡

Hi! My name is Mr Snuggle, I'm four years old, and, true to my name, I love cuddles. My foster mum says I like to spend time by her side, and will follow her around the house.

Other things I like are food(!) and playing with toys, especially the little ball that I have in my foster home.

I do like things on my own terms, so would be best suited to a home without young kids.
