Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue We are a volunteer run, NFP dog rescue based in Perth WA. As our dogs are usually rescued from pounds, we are often unaware of their age, breed and background.

Please be aware that each dog may have many applications for their adoption and our goal is to select the home best matched to the needs of the individual dog. Only one applicant can be chosen, & while we do our best to notify unsuccessful applicants or suggest a more suitably matched dog, we appreciate your patience and understanding. While we do try to list an approximate age & breed, there are no guarantees when it comes to rescue dogs. When you adopt a DFL dog, their adoption fee goes towards paying for their vet work along with helping other dogs in need! We also rescue dogs that are very old or ill and care for them under our rescue for whatever time they have left – these are our 'Forever Fosters'. 💙 BIG BOY, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL 💙

Rocky is a stunning young Cane Corso X who turns 2 this May. He is in need of a foster home, and can even be fostered with the view to adopt.

Rocky can be unsure of new people at first but soon warms up once introduced. We are told he has lived with a female dog and children, and he hasn't been tested with cats. He has the potential to go to a home with a female dog similar to himself, pending meet.

Rocky will need an owner capable of handling and training a very large and strong dog, improving his lead work, strengthening his social skills and increasing his confidence.

Our darling girl Polly is only young, we guess around 18 months old, and she is eager to please and ready to learn 🤓 She has a gorgeous playful puppy energy; just help hone her manners and skills without losing her spark 💥

Polly has been excellent with all people she’s met, has done well meeting and walking with other dogs, and has the potential to live with a male playmate pending meet 🐕

⚠️ URGENT ⚠️ FOSTER OR ADOPT ⚠️

🐕 This cuddly Ridgy X boy needs to find a new home IMMEDIATELY as his current carer has experienced a family emergency and is not able to care for him from TODAY onward 💔

Zain is a snuggle champ who loves leaning in for pats, scritches, and plenty of belly rubs. He’s also a fan of treats and takes them ever so gently 🍪

His favorite thing? Stretching out and doing the classic "sploot" while crawling along on his belly 😄

Zain is good with other dogs once properly introduced and has been living with a friendly female dog, so has the potential to do so again.

He can pull on the lead, so you’ll need to be confident walking this strong guy 💪 He’s been friendly with all the humans he’s met so far. Although we haven’t tested him with kids, we’ve heard he was great with little ones in his former life 🧸

ZERO applications received for Covid so far. It seems everyone is much more bothered about his name than they are about the fact he is HOMELESS. Priorities, please! 😭

Covid is also not the only one waiting, we’ve had nine new dogs arrive just this week, not to mention our long termers who are desperate for homes ❤️

Imagine how dejected this sweetheart is feeling when he hears things like "I don't want Covid", "I wish Covid would go away", "I hope no-one gets Covid"...

Jokes aside, this handsome boofa has come into our care after the sad passing of his former owner. We're looking for a home where Covid can get all the love he needs and more.

During his assessment with our trainer, Covid was friendly with people and high energy and intensity around other dogs, with potential to live with a female dog, pending meet. Covid hasn't been tested with kids/cats.
