Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue We are a volunteer run, NFP dog rescue based in Perth WA. As our dogs are usually rescued from pounds, we are often unaware of their age, breed and background.

At Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue (DFL) we aim to find rescue dogs their permanent homes with families who will commit to loving them for the rest of their days! The dogs in our care live temporarily with foster families in Perth Metro while we prepare them for adoption; completing their vaccinations, microchipping, desexing & other medical care, and getting to know their personalities and ne

eds. We don’t have a central location as our foster carers are based all over Perth, so you are welcome to view our dogs online at: www.savour-life.com.au/adopt-a-dog/rescue-groups/7422/ and contact us by email if you would like to apply for & meet one of our dogs. Please be aware that each dog may have many applications for their adoption and our goal is to select the home best matched to the needs of the individual dog. Only one applicant can be chosen, & while we do our best to notify unsuccessful applicants or suggest a more suitably matched dog, we appreciate your patience and understanding. While we do try to list an approximate age & breed, there are no guarantees when it comes to rescue dogs. When you adopt a DFL dog, their adoption fee goes towards paying for their vet work along with helping other dogs in need! We also rescue dogs that are very old or ill and care for them under our rescue for whatever time they have left – these are our 'Forever Fosters'. Zain is a 2yo absolute cuddlebug, which can make it hard to get a good photo of him ❤️

He loves humans and has been great with all the dogs he's met, so could potentially go with another dog. Zain is also very gentle taking treats.

Zain is only available because hiss family had to move overseas and couldn't take him with them.

With great thanks to our dedicated foster carers for hand-raising Willow's puppies, we are pleased to announce that these nine darlings are now taking adoption applications!

Mama Willow is a large Staffy X, the pups' father is unknown. There are 4 girls and 5 boys. Born 11th October 2024, they are now exactly 8 weeks old!

💫Banks is a super-star boy who is all about adventure and fun. He has learned a lot of tricks, as he's also a clever boy who likes to please people. He knows sit, lay, crawl, play, is toilet trained and can spend some time alone. He LOVES his walks and adventures, where he can sniff and explore to his heart's content 🤗

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Banks much prefers to spend his adventures with just you and your family, no other pets. He has done well living with children in the past and has the potential to join a family with children. He is still working on his doggy social skills, so he does need an owner who has some experience handling and training dogs 🐶

🌿 The herb sorrel is rather sour, but this boy SORREL will bring a smile to your face ☺️ He is a typical boy puppy, always up for games and a good time.

To be SORREL'S perfect parents, you need to be willing to put in the time whilst he is young. However this time will pay off in the long term.

This time should be spent on his socialisation, training, age appropriate exercise, games and activities that make him think. A good puppy school is perfect for this.

A home with a doggy playmate would be perfect, for company and to set a good example for SORREL.

💙 Beautiful Zain is hoping to be in his new forever home well before Christmas! After all, he needs to make sure Santa knows exactly where to find him. And trust us—he’s definitely on the GOOD list! 🐶✨

💙 Zain is a cuddler through and through, always ready for pats, scritches, and snuggles. He loves his treats (and takes them gently!), enjoys stretching out in his signature "sploot" pose, and even crawls along on his belly when he's feeling extra cozy.

💙 This sweet boy has been friendly with everyone he's met so far, from humans to dogs! Zain did wonderfully meeting new dogs during our recent kennel visit and got along great with our trainer’s dog.

We’ve also been told he’s been around kids and was a champ with them. Zain could even be a good match for an active female dog, and hasn’t been tested with cats.

💙 Zain was sadly given up when his family had to move overseas, but now he’s looking for a fresh start, just in time for the holidays! Could your home be the perfect fit for this gentle soul?
