Pre Made Roar

Pre Made Roar Pre Made Roar, Pre made prey model raw food for dogs. South Australia. Optimum Nutrition for pets at minimum cost in South Australia. Why?
(4)

My Goal is to offer a nutritionally balanced meal for pets, that is both convenient and affordable. Learning how to raw feed is one thing, having the time for prep is another. I used to get different ingredients from different suppliers which made it a nightmare when buying in bulk to have everything ready at the same time. Now i can offer you variety, balance, pre packed for convenience, with che

ap prices too. All packed in 1 kg bags, 50kg buyers also have the option of 500g bags. 20kg lots and up are $3kg, 10kg lots are $4kg. I have gone from this basic prey model mix, onto a more complicated mix (veg, fish, kelp, seeds etc) with the advice of an animal nutritionist, only to return to prey model. several reasons really, the most important of which being a lesser qualified but more experienced animal nutritionist recommended to feed Prey Model which is 80% muscle meat 10% bone 5% liver 5% secreting organ. This advice coming from somebody that works with a dingo rescue and looks after some at home. The advice to stick to prey model also resonated with me from a logical point of view, when would a wild dog have access to kelp? how likely would it be for it to eat kale on a regular basis? how often would it really eat fish? and would it ever eat sunflower seeds? Pre Made Roar’s Multi Mix A is a work of art, lamb liver and lamb kidney because dogs often don’t like beef organs, and lamb organs are more nutritious. Chicken in the form of minced frames which gives some chicken protein, some bone content, some fat and some silica. Fat is an energy source and silica helps with gut lining and regenerating cartilage in joints. Turkey comes in the form of minced necks and brings the same things to the table as the chicken does, plus being an extra protein provides more variety. Kangaroo is a clean wild meat very high in protein and highly nutritious like majority of things that can survive in Australia's harsh climate, however the amount is limited due it to being so lean. If you feed nothing but roo your dogs will be underweight in my experience, like us dogs reject excess protein so overfeeding doesn’t help. Beef is the meat of choice for majority of greyhound racers and is the major ingredient in Multi Mix A. All this conveniently packaged and still as cheap as $3kg, our lucky stars had sure aligned when this mix was formulated. Delivery is a possibility if you’re prepared to add a reasonable and agreed fee to cover fuel and time. Pickup is preferred from Elizabeth Grove and in time more stockists will become available. Your order will be packed into Styrofoam boxes to keep them cold. 50kg will use 4 boxes. 100kg will use 7 boxes. So be sure to keep room available when picking up bulk orders.

Stay safe out there!

31/10/2023

Hey, I just wanted to reach out to all our page followers and ask for a favour.

We mostly do the giving here with information, articles, and savings but now I want to ask for something small.

Let me explain.

The world of dog ownership is heading for a very tough place for many, and we need to take some action to slow or stop this out of control train wreck.

How many people have been in the news lately that have been killed or mauled by their dogs?

Dog bites and attacks spiralling out of control in every state.

Why, well there are many reasons, but one major reason is that our Australian Government has realised that Australians who own dogs are many, and to get our votes, they need to tell us what we want to hear.

So, they stand up and tell us how they will make laws and legislation to “help our beloved dogs”.

That’s right “I’m from the Government and I’m here to help”, (generally means RUN!)

You may not know this but, when making these laws to change the way we live with our dogs, they will not hear input from the Professional Dog Trainers of this country, instead they push the agenda in such a way that they make you feel that specialist dog trainers are to be ignored and disbelieved when it comes to what is best for your dogs education and well being.

Pushing you towards groups that will eventually euthanise your dog for behaving in an out of control manner.

Making laws to seize your dog and kill him or her and fining and prosecuting you along the way.

I formed the organisation known as the Professional Dog Trainers of Australia or PDTA (LINK) and I am the current president and am supported by a very experienced board of members you can see here (https://dogtrainersaustralia.org/about-us/)

The goal of the organisation is to represent dog trainers, behaviourists right through to dog owners and trying to help you all the best we can.

We offer our expertise, time and services to State and Federal Governments AT NO CHARGE to provide information, knowledge and advice so that the dog owning public have access to fair laws, legislation and education.

Now, the favour I asked for.

The PDTA is open to
• Hobby dog trainers
• Pet dog trainers
• Professional dog trainers
• Dog behaviourists
• Veterinarians
• Dog rescue and foster carers
• Dog training instructors
• Police, Military, RAAF, Department of Corrections handlers
• Sport dog trainers
• Dog breeders and exhibitors
• Zoo trainers
• Scent detection trainers
• Hunting dog trainers
• Herding and all other types of working dog trainers
• Assistance dog handlers and trainers
• Dogs for the disabled and guide dog trainers

If you are a dog lover who wants to enhance their knowledge and skills in dog training, PDTA invites you to be part of our inclusive community.

It doesn’t matter if you have prior experience or if you’re a beginner, we welcome all.

You don’t have to be a dog trainer, dog lovers are very welcome.

The support can come in one of two ways

1 Please like this page (https://www.facebook.com/PDTAinc) to support us.

2 Please consider joining the organisation, we need you because we need numbers.

https://dogtrainersaustralia.org/join-professional-dog-trainers-australia/

You can join as an Associate member for only $40 for the whole year, money goes to funding your dog’s freedom, all board members are 100% voluntary and receive no monetary benefits from PDTA.

That’s it, that’s all.

Frozen chicken 🐓 broth cubes for pets 🐈 🐕 .

No salt used in cooking.
-Small cubes 350-400ml per dozen.
2x doz $10 (700-800ml)
-Large cubes 1200ml per dozen.

-Small slabs 250ml each.

Pre Made Roar’s unique chicken broth is highly concentrated in extracted ingredients. It sets and wobbles like jelly when first settled in the fridge, unlike other very watery commercial products. Frames are cut up and packed tightly into the pot (exceeding 1 frame per litre of water), unlike culinary recipes you might find, this is geared purely towards better health. The dogs love it too!

Pickup Elizabeth grove by appointment

Nutritional Benefits

1. Protein-Packed: Chicken broth is a fantastic source of protein. The slow simmering of chicken bones and meat releases collagen protein and anti inflammatory amino acids like glycine and proline, which are essential for tissue repair and overall health.
2. Nutrient-Rich: Broths are packed with essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin B, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus, which contribute to healthy bones, teeth, and nerve function.
3. Hydration: Chicken broth helps maintain hydration levels due to its water content and can be especially helpful when you’re under the weather or recovering from illness.

Health Benefits

1. Immune Support: The amino acids in chicken broth may help boost the immune system. Additionally, hot chicken broth can soothe a sore throat and ease congestion.
2. Digestive Aid: Chicken broth is gentle on the stomach and can aid digestion. It’s recommended as a part of the GAPS Diet (gut and psychology syndrome) for healing everything from mental health conditions to autoimmune diseases.
3. Joint Health: The collagen in chicken broth may support joint health, potentially reducing joint pain and inflammation. Chicken broth also provides a source of silica to replenish cartilage, tendons and ligaments.

🚨🚨🚨 𝗗𝗢𝗚 𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗦 𝗔𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗔 🚨🚨🚨

Most Australians have heard about the recent dog attacks across our country.

This is truly heartbreaking for the families involved and the greater dog community.

⚠️These incidents 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻, and we absolutely 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗧 respond to reduce and eliminate these horrific attacks.⚠️

👉👉👉👉👉“𝐇𝐨𝐰” 𝐰𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥.

We see “knee jerk” emotional statements across the media to ban certain breeds. 😕

☝️ Regulations such as these have been implemented in many countries only to find them ineffective and people still being bitten in large numbers.

You will notice the absence of Animal Rights Groups offering help or even recognition of these events, why?

👉 Give me the opportunity to assess the dog, interview people and compile a report as to what behaviour markers the dog has, what is the dog’s general demeanour, health, level of education and triggers.

👉 I have my own insurance; I have my own Personal Protective Equipment and I am experienced and qualified to assess dogs like these.

👉 I will sign any waiver.

👉 I will have medical tests or even an autopsy carried out if I feel there is a contributing heath concern.

👉 All of this at my own expense.

👉 This is not to save the dog.

👉 At the competition of my work, the dog can be euthanised.

👉 This IS about us learning what specifically triggers this dog on that day to attack his or her owners, when they have lived with these dogs without issue for an extended period of time.

👉 This IS about us using this information to develop education programs for owners to help them choose, raise, socialise, educate and live with dogs safely.

Dog ownership IS a big part of many Australians lives, with education we can create amazing family pets that are safe for everyone.

NOW is the time for the Australian Government to work with our organisation, the Professional Dog Trainers of Australia to develop and implement strategies that work.

We welcome any media, parliamentary, council and or state enquiries, questions and interviews and will reach out to our Governments, once again to offer our expertise.

Who remembers buying pet food from petzest, being told it’s preservative free, the business being sold, the new owners struggling with freshness before announcing the old owners had lied for a decade or so about having no preservatives?

None of us stopped to think, is that legal? Absolutely not. It’s a breach of food safety standards (must be clearly marked on packaging), it’s a breach of consumer law to mislead customers.

So how did they get away with it for so long? Wait for it!!! PIRSA don’t have the power to take samples and have them tested. The ACCC do, but IF they launch an investigation into the ENTIRE pet food industry, the only correspondence you’ll receive is reading their media release.

I strongly encourage and advise any raw feeders to take a sample of their mince to SAALS for their own peace of mind. Testing for sulphur dioxide (220) will cost you $110 and you’ll get a result in 5 business days. The most PIRSA can do with that result is advise the outlet on their obligations, packaging has no obligations for traceability, so if there’s no tracing then they still can’t act on your test results. But you can talk with your dollar and shop elsewhere, perhaps demand reimbursement for your testing costs.

We get away from processed foods for a reason, and it would be great if people spoke up. Wrote to their local member or the ACCC, anyone that could help or suggest that PIRSA be given the powers to test pet food. Otherwise, what’s the point of the food safety department having the standards at all?

If you suspect ingredients to be misleading you can also get a 4 species test through SAALS, the result will take a month and cost $700.

Check this out, my results showed 575ppm….
25ppm more than the maximum legal dose IF it was labelled.

Hi raw feeders. Apologies for being out of action for weeks now, it’s been out of my control.

New menu will be coming very soon. I operate on honesty and transparency, therefore I had to halt all sales until I can be sure that you’re getting the product I’m advertising.

I haven’t left everyone posted like it must seem, I’m quietly (for now) fighting a battle that concerns pet owners across the state at least.

If it turns out one voice isn’t enough, I’ll be seeking support from everyone concerned. So stay tuned for a new menu, plus a result on my battle, or a detailed post outlining the problem and the solution. Like I’ve said before, I’ve got your back 💪😉

Hey raw feeders. The prey model journey has been an interesting one I must say. Luckily it was always called a rough guide…

Could people please contribute their input here? The info says 2-3% of body weight. But the more I think about it, it’s never been enough. I find the mark to be closer to 5%. Even with a mixture of lean high energy dogs, and a muscular more laid back dog currently boarding with me.

If you don’t know the percentage, feel free to comment your dogs weight, and the amount you feed successfully….. if you feed any kibble please just let this post slide, because that changes everything.

04/08/2023

Chest freezers are great for efficiency and all, but from empty with no thermal mass inside, they can take a long time to do their job. Up to 3 days much like a cool room size freezer.

I’m yet to freeze a batch in this bad boy but it’ll be under 24 hours. Then I can transfer to a chest freezer for storage and switch this back off.

What this means is extended freshness when the bags are defrosted, they’ll be loaded in straight away and this is the only “preservative” used for Pre Made Roar MultiMix A, or meatloaf available on order.

Check out the efficiency on this though! Thanks SA Appliance Warehouse 💪

PS. I’ve decided to drop liver from the mix, the page will be edited accordingly over the weekend. But any more orders won’t contain liver.

I do support people feeding liver to their dogs, IF they’ll eat it as 5% of their intake. But sometimes they may choose not to. Dogs on a varied 100% carnivorous diet aren’t low on vitamin k2 intake anyway.

Don’t forget adding 2-3 eggs a week will give results so good you can see it in the coat.

20/07/2023

Hi all. A bit info about myself and how I operate.
Sometimes I’ve done a poor job of responding on time to people, my professionalism could use some work, I’m on the spectrum and my biggest struggle is social skills.

But, I’m honest. Unlike the well known supplier that lied about preservatives for a decade while charging high prices to cover their overheads and lifestyle.

I have no overheads other than my freezers and the energy they use, I run by appointment which means I don’t have to pay myself a wage to sit around while there’s no customers…. This means I can offer you incredible pricing.

If I make a mistake and miss our appointment, I’ll generally offer free delivery out of respect to make up for my fault.

I’m working on getting an upright freezer so my product is frozen much faster than chest freezers are capable of. This will translate to extra days of freshness when you defrost your food.

If I get free bones, you get free bones. If I get cheap bones, I’ve still been known to give away free bones. I appreciate my customers. I’ll spend hours chatting on messenger about problems your pets have, and sharing the information I’ve learned over years of research and experience.

I do ask that people respect my home first and foremost as that’s what this is. If that becomes impractical then it will be the business that goes, not the home.

I won’t serve people that show up without an agreed time, and I need you to almost pretend my dogs don’t exist (except standing back when I open the gate helps a lot).
If you talk to my dogs through the gate, stare into their eyes, play bow etc, they will lose their minds and I will ask you not to. If that means you’ll say “don’t worry about it then”, then I indeed won’t worry about it then.
I won’t let people cross my boundaries for the sake of money. Nobody is paying a great deal, so of course I don’t make a great deal.

I’m that same guy that gave a jump start when it counted, to that same guy that said “don’t worry about it then”. The supermarkets won’t do that for you, nor will many other businesses. I’ve got your back, please have mine.

Sorry for the double post but the text disappeared earlier.
Spring-pole are a great way to work your dogs 🐕 back and neck muscles💪 , and to give them an outlet, a job almost.

Treadmills, slatmills, and carpet mills on an incline are fantastic for leg🦵muscles and cardio ❤️ fitness.

There are many variations of a spring pole, different toys 🧸 tugs and springs. But this is free, used car 🚘 tube from a tyre shop. Used bike 🚴 tyre, a tree 🌳 and some rope.

I used to work Xandra on this before feeding time and it quickly built up some extra excitement with the positive reinforcement from the toy itself mixed with the anticipation of the food 🥩.

Gotta love a non dog trainer making laws for dog training. I understand it may not seem important If you’ve never used a competent trainer, but when you need one, find one, and they transform your relationship with your dog then you’ll support dog trainers. Training can avoid euthanasia and more. Prong collars can avoid euthanasia.

If everyone could please hit the like button for the pdta page that would be awesome, the pdta is the best thing going for dog owners in Australia, so far the prong law has quite the grey area thanks to the PDTA!

Chicken feet are loaded with nutrients! One of their unique attributes is high collagen content.

Majority of their total protein content is collagen, a structural protein that provides shape, strength, and resistance to skin, tendons, muscles, bones, and ligaments. It also helps to keep a healthy gut lining.

Hi all!
Quick reminder I recommend to add egg 🥚 2-3 times a week with Multi Mix A.
Also sardine 1-2 times a week. Your dogs 🐕 will be thriving and shining!

If anyone is interested in setting up their own chicken 🐓 coop, you can google the many benefits of running a deep litter setup.

Over the years of trial and error running this style I’ve realised it may be better suited to the name compost litter. Simply using all
Brown dry carbonaceous materials won’t accomodate the organisms that will help to control parasites 🦠 and provide free feed.

The art of compost simplified is green layer, with brown layer on top. After some time, you turn it (chickens can do this for you).

None of my weeds go in the green bin, it’s all free biomass that goes to the chicken coop or yard. With all this rain I bet you all have had a lot of weeds, it’s a perfect time to lay the initial thick green layer. Before adding leaf litter or wood shavings, or whatever browns you can get cheap/free.

Weeds with seeds will cause complications for your compost but only if you wanted to use it in a specific area those weeds aren’t welcome. All weeds are welcome in a chook yard.

You generally have two choices for chicken flooring. Sand raked regularly, or deep litter left for over a year as a living system.

Always remember compost can trigger Clostridium botulinum to produce the botulism toxin (super deadly). That happens in an anaerobic environment with a ph above 4.5… setup right the chickens won’t allow it to go anaerobic, they love to scratch when given a reason, and it will turn acidic.

No Mycotoxins in Pre Made Roar! But if you’re feeding big commercial brands, this is just one of many massive risks.

This is why I started what I do. My first priority is quality food for my dog/s. When I knew I got it right, it was up for sale.

So many raw feeders even struggle to have the faith to kick the kibbles. Meat is loaded with nutrients! Big brands only add supplements because cereal grains aren’t so nutritious!

Today’s The Forever Dog Longevity Tip 🐶
Add some apiaceous vegetables (e.g., carrots, cilantro, parsnips, fennel, celery, parsley) to your dog’s dry or canned food! 🥕

These gems contain polyacetylenes, an unusual class of organic compounds that has antibacterial AND antifungal benefits. They play a key role in detoxifying several cancer-causing substances, specifically MYCOTOXINS. Mycotoxins are tasteless, odorless fungal toxins found in pet food ingredients that cause organ damage and immune problems.

Eliminating mycotoxins from your dog’s body can be really difficult but serving up apiaceous veggies is a great way to enhance the metabolism of these toxic compounds!

Raw or cooked, carrots and parsnip slices make great training treats, while cilantro, parsley, and fennel can be minced and mixed in with your dog’s food.

This easy food hack is one of many simple strategies Rodney Habib and I include in The Forever Dog book to keep your dog healthy. Available now at https://foreverdog.com/dog-longevity-health-and.../

Are you feeding your dog too often? ⏰🍗⏰🥩⏰🥕🐶

Dogs fed once a day are less likely to be diagnosed with age-related conditions than pooches fed more often, study claims.

In the largest largest study to date of feeding frequency conducted in companion dogs, University of Arizona-led experts analyzed data on 24,238 pet dogs from the US and found:

• Being fed once a day lowered the risk of nine types of canine health problems
• These included cancer, dental issues and either kidney or urinary complications
• Similarly, dogs fed only once daily scored lower on tests of cognitive problems
• But the team said it is too early to advise owners to change their pet's diets

“We view these results as an exciting first step of an ongoing exploration of the impact of diet on companion dogs living in human environments. Given the intense interest in, and popularization of, ‘longevity diets’ such as intermittent fasting and time-restricted feeding, these types of studies in dogs are both timely and important. We believe these studies will ultimately offer insights into factors that promote health and longevity for both dogs and humans.” - The Dog Aging Project

The scientists and researchers we interviewed for The Forever Dog book agreed that one meal a day for healthy dogs is ideal, in terms of maximizing autophagy and minimizing metabolic stress.

To learn how to transition your pup to a new eating schedule and create an eating window (which allows your pup to receive the benefits of intermittent fasting while offering the same amount of food) check out the section in our book “Personalized Meals as Medicine” found here: www.foreverdog.com

Is kibble really that great?

I know we all assume it's what we should feed our dogs. I mean, everyone else does. It's the norm.

It didn't used to be the norm though. In fact, it only became normal in Australia in the 1970s, decades after it because normal in the United States.

Clever marketing and big budgets from some of the biggest companies in the world (like Mars, Nestle, and Colgate Palmolive) have convinced us the only safe way to feed our dogs is with their "complete and balanced" products.

But what if our dogs were healthier before we started feeding them kibble?

What if our dogs weren't as prone to cancer, heart disease, liver disease, urinary issues, gut issues, or skin issues?

I'm not surprised these diet-related illnesses are so common these days, especially with most dog foods being largely made of grains (or non-grain substitutes), packaged up to look like they're fantastic and packed with meat, when they're not.

They're convenience products, designed for profit.

Before the 1970s, most of our dogs were fed table scraps, meat, organs, and raw meaty bones. A wide variety of foods.

According to Dr Billinghurst, Australian vet and inventor of BARF, most Australian vets had little to do before commercial dog foods were introduced to Australia.

In fact, in the 1970s he was baffled why American vets had to deal with so many advanced techniques for treating these diet-related diseases.

But since commercial dog foods were introduced to Australia, he begun to see why...

Are you feeding your dog a healthy kibble?

Are you sure?

Hey raw feeders!
A bit of a safety tip for anyone interested. There are also spiked “back off jackets” available to protect your dog.

But one of these or similar (flatter sand pegs are better) from Bunnings is a great tool to own. Keep it on your belt during walks etc.

If a dog grabs hold of your dog and won’t let go, and the owner is there, hand them this and tell them how to use it.

Simply hold the dog with one hand, slip this between the top and bottom jaw from the side of the head. Push and wiggle, the grip will release enough for the other dog to slip out, problem solved.

Most collars if not too thick can also be twisted easily, tight enough to cut blood and oxygen flow.
The dog will then release its grip rather than fall unconscious.

If there’s two dogs and one of you, you can try drag them and tie one to a post, then grab the other dog and choke or use a break stick.

This is really helpful information if the need arises. I’ve seen water work and seen it fail, I’ve seen thumb in the bum work!! And I’ve seen it fail!

Pretty much every other technique you can imagine, has both failed and worked on different dogs. There’s nothing worse than feeling helpless while your dog is being attacked or attacking another.

Breaksticks and choke outs don’t fail!

Pet meats like beef from a knackery aren’t held to the same standards as human food. So I never defrost mine in my fridge (sealed container would change things though).

If you leave it out to defrost, you can get wasps and flies. In warmer weather it can easily over heat in a day.

So here, we can control the defrost. In 40+ degree weather, the meat will still come out a foam box looking fresh at the end of the day, if it went in frozen.

But for a little added luxury, the cool air inside the box will help to keep the water in the lid cool.

Bain Marie trays make awesome dog bowls, one tray fits 2kg pre made roar.

The lids are laser cut, if you’ve ever tried to cut styrofoam you’ll know why. If anyone would like a box with matching laser cut lid, I’ll have them available for $20. Stainless Steel Trays available eBay/Amazon etc.

Not exactly the weather to make these exciting I know. But a handy little unit!

Guys I feel obliged to share some sad 😞 news with you. My uncle and aunt recently had to euthanise both their beloved staffies. The culprit was compost.

Clostridium botuli is a bacteria found everywhere, soil, food, you name it.. In an anaerobic environment that lacks acidity, the bacteria produces what’s known as the botulism toxin. The botulism toxin is the deadliest substance on earth by weight.

Oil has no PH. Therefore has no acidity, any fats/oils are paradise for this poison. They weren’t the first dogs I knew of 😞.

If you keep a you can;
Ensure aeration
Avoid adding fat/oil
Keep lid on
Restrict access to compost.

Once ingested, unless you see and force vomit, your vet is going to start the bill at $4000-$4,500 per day at the least, with no guarantee of survival.

Just have a think, you can still run compost but you should take precautions. If aerobic vs anaerobic seems like too much hassle, it’s probably best to ditch the compost.

Enjoy every day with every pet/animal you have.

𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐦𝐮𝐳𝐳𝐥𝐞?

You may say no, but read on…
The Queensland government in their wisdom have added to the Animal Care and Protection Bill 2022, that certain restraint devices will be banned.
They are selling this on the back of banning the “oh so terrible” prong collar, but they have also included giving themselves the option to ban, at any time, other restraint devices.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 : -

“𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑡 𝑑𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒'' 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑠 𝑎 𝑑𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑙 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑢𝑟𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑡. 𝐸𝑥𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑠— 𝑐𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑟𝑠, 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑠, ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑠, 𝑚𝑢𝑧𝑧𝑙𝑒𝑠, ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠”

Ok so, I know what your saying, “they will never ban those things, how would we even walk our dogs?”
Well, read on.
Before I go too far, I am going to pick one item from that ridiculous list and discuss it.

𝗠𝘂𝘇𝘇𝗹𝗲𝘀

So, yes, on that list is the potential ban muzzles.
Many people mistakenly think that a dog is dangerous and will bite and that is why the dog is wearing a muzzle.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝘂𝘇𝘇𝗹𝗲, 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗲.

Muzzles are a piece of SAFETY equipment; they can allow people to be in close proximity to a dog and perform certain actions that may trigger the dog to bite.
Some examples are:

• Trimming nails
• Veterinary procedures
• Grooming procedures
• Rehabilitation and behaviour modification
• Interaction with other dogs and people when one or both dogs is 100% comfortable
• Dogs that are being transported in vehicles with other people, such as Military

Any of these can trigger a dog to bite and for the safety of everyone, a muzzle is a good option.

They can also prevent your dog eating things they shouldn’t such as dog baits, rancid birds, toads, and other things that can do them harm.

This begs the question…

𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗪𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗔𝗡 𝗠𝗨𝗭𝗭𝗟𝗘𝗦?

Well, I don’t think the answer is simple one, but here is what 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 of people are telling me.

First, when government want to add a new law, they have what they deem a “𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚” for doing so.

It states:

The Queensland Governments Guide to Better Regulation May 2019 states that: ·

The COAG Best Practice Principles for Regulation making include:
a) Consulting effectively with affected stakeholders at all stages of the regulatory cycle
b) Ensuring that government action is effective and proportional to the issue being addressed
c) Considering a range of feasible policy options including self-regulatory, co-regulatory and non-regulatory approach
d) Adopting the option that generates the greatest net benefit for the community

This basically means, they state that best practice would be to list what the law entails and put this out for comment by key stakeholders (basically people who would or may be affected), the wider community (everyone) and hear what they have to say.

This is how laws are formed, Bills changes etc.

𝗜ɴ ᴛʜɪ𝘀 ᴄᴀ𝘀ᴇ, ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴅɪᴅ ɴᴏᴛ ᴀᴛ ᴀʟʟ ʜᴀᴘᴘᴇɴ.

In fact, the review of the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001, took place in 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘴, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘶𝘻𝘻𝘭𝘦𝘴.

The window for people to comment on that review 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙙 23𝙧𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙮 2021. 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙖 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙖𝙜𝙤.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻, 𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮, almost a year 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 opportunities to comment on the review closed, Annastacia Palaszczuk announced that she will be banning prong collars and these restraint devices.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆?
𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗜𝗧 𝗜𝗦!

So, when you say “𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘴, 𝘮𝘶𝘻𝘻𝘭𝘦𝘴, 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴, 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺?”

Remember they are not following 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭, 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭.

If you let this happen, this will be the start of the change of the way we own dogs in the future, 𝗜𝗙 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.

Groups such the Animal Justice Party, fronted by ex PETA employee, Emma Hurst, have cropped up.

𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗔 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀.

Animal Justice Party are all for these changes, no surprise.

Animal Justice Party have also been trying to stop the breeding of dogs. They refer to it as puppy farming and try sell it under that banner, but make no mistake, registered, ethical breeders are being targeted primarily.

The RSPCA also support these changes.
The RSPCA sell dogs
The RSPCA are paid to put dogs to sleep.

Here is a thought… a lot of people are having.

We ban an excellent control and behaviour modification tool such as the prong collar.

Then ban slip leads, check chains, halters, flat collars, harnesses.

Dogs are running wild.

Then ban muzzles.

Dog handed to RSPCA, they get paid to put the dog to sleep ($$$)

They sell you another dog… ($$$)

When I first looked at all of this, I thought what a wild conspiracy theory and that was 2 years ago.

But each step is playing out exactly the way many people said it would.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

The ban on prong collars was started off the back of a petition.

That petition has been open for months and has around 500 signatures.

The PDTA started a petition a little over a week ago NOT to ban these tools. It has over 5000 signatures right now.

So, should be simple right? 500 people vote for ban, 𝟱𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗮𝗻.

Democracy, right?

Well, I feel that is up to you.

You don’t have to like prong collars, your dog may not need one, ever. I can tell you from a lot of experience with a lot of dogs, some do.

Some owners will not be able to control their dogs without one.

But as I said, it is not about the prong collar, that is just the picture being thrust into your face to make you ignore what is really going on.

Our Story

Optimum Nutrition for pets at minimum cost in South Australia.

My Goal is to offer a nutritionally balanced meal for pets, that is both convenient and affordable. Learning how to raw feed is one thing, having the time for prep is another. I used to get different ingredients from different suppliers which made it a nightmare when buying in bulk to have everything ready at the same time. Now i can offer you variety, balance, pre packed for convenience, with staggered pricing depending on amount. 50kg lots are $2.50kg all packed in 1 kg bags, 50kg buyers also have the option of 500g bags. 20kg lots are $3kg, 10kg lots are $4kg.

I have gone from this basic prey model mix, onto a more complicated mix (veg, fish, kelp, seeds etc) with the advice of an animal nutritionist, only to return to prey model. Why? several reasons really, the most important of which being a lesser qualified but more experienced animal nutritionist recommended to feed Prey Model which is 80% muscle meat 10% bone 5% liver 5% secreting organ.

All this conveniently packaged and still as cheap as $2.50kg, our lucky stars had sure aligned when this mix was formulated.
