John is doing some wonderful work with his beautiful dogs. Tinker is a little sweetheart, as was little Diesal (fly high little one 🌈).

I have spent some time in the Mater with people going through chemo and these little precious pups and their humans are special.

Calvary Mater Newcastle recently welcomed its newest four legged volunteer, Tinker. 🐶

Tinker is a two year old Papillion who is owned and handled by John, a dedicated Delta Therapy Dogs volunteer.

John has been with Delta Therapy Dogs for over eight years, and for two of these years he was a regular on our wards with the wonderful Diesal before her sad passing.

Please stop and say hello to Tinker and John the next time you are at the Mater. The visits help bring joy throughout the hospital.

We are excited to get into the Westlakes Vet Hospital 😍

When you take your feather for a walk 🐾😆

Today, we spent the day going through snake aversion training with Barkers In Balance. It was a full day but a great day. We were able to train both dogs in avoiding a real snake (not alive and the snake was euthanised humanly, as it was an unwell snake at the vet). Both boys started out very curious, Alfie in particular was incredibly keen to get the snake. By the end of the day, both boys didn't want anything to do with it. We need to continue the training, but were given the right tools to do it, and we will be back next year to refresh. Of course we speak to people about their dogs and chatted to several, some people come back annually and credit this training for saving their dogs. One gentleman has had a brown and red belly just this year and their dog had avoided both. Amazing and well worth the time and money. Highly recommend Julie and Annette. They answered all our questions. So happy we went. This is just one of the many videos we took (don't worry we won't share all of them 😆)

Charlie update: 3.5 months post spinal surgery. We have an appointment with the rehab vet tomorrow, but the last progress report was 80% recovered. This morning, we did our rehab exercises at the beach. We did hills, steps, and a few stretches.
