A little about us, we are a dog groomer salon, team of 3, situated in Sutton Street Redcliffe. The shop is owned by Natalie Gilligan who has over 15 years of grooming experience from starting a salon in her parents garage to working in Brisbane and now having her own successful salon in the heart of Redcliffe’s beach front. We pride ourself with providing exceptional grooms for every dog, big or small knotty or crazy we groom them all including cats.
DOG GROOMER POSITION:
We are urgently require a new dog groomer to join our team at The Dog House Redcliffe for an immediate start.
About you, The position is available to the right candidate for 5 days a week, to be considered for this position prior grooming experience is required. As a dog groomer at our salon requires you will be required to complete a dogs groom within an hour and be able to tolerate a high speed, noisy environment and with other groomers present and work well within a team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Bathing and blow drying dogs
- Handling dogs and cats (preferably but not required to groom cats)
- Cutting nails
- Brushing and fluff drying dogs coats
- Removal of matting
- Deshedding double coated dog breeds
- Groom various styles such as: lamb legs, teddy cuts, poodle face, feet and tail, pompom feet, flared legs and much more.
- Complete traditional groom styles such as west highland terriers with skirts, cocker spaniel, schnauzer and much more.
- You must be able to identify when a dog can not tolerate the groom, be able to use intervention to correctly provide comfort to stressed dogs.
- Also knowledge of applying animal first aid where necessary.

RECEPTIONIST AND BATH/DRYER POSITION:
We are looking for a kind and friendly person to join our grooming salon family at The Dog House Redcliffe. The perfect candidate will need to love dogs and have great communication skills, this person does not require previous receptionist skills are these will be taught, all that’s required is a readiness to learn.
Keys responsibility include:
- Washing and blow drying dogs
- Brushing matted fur and fluff drying
- Answering phone calls and making calls to clients when their dogs are ready to be pick up.
- Taking cash and bank transfer transactions
- Counting cash and end of day totals.
- Talking to clients and answering questions
- Writing client cards and filling in appointment for the day.
- Washing towels
- Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and general cleaning of equipment.
