Our 2022 Chocolate Van Archie (Mr Sassy Pants) with his little cousin Brandi (bred by British Shorthairs Australia Miriella) in their home in SA with the Mackenzie Family, and our 2023 Chocolate Longhair kitten Charlie in his QLD home with The Fergusons at Rubenesque.

Archie and Charlie's mum Nellie and Truffles are half sisters, and Brandi's mum is Charlie's half sister. How's that for a family tree 😆

Apologies to my Kitten Families and anyone that has contacted me interested in the kittens still seeking laps - I promise I will get back to you asap and or send photos and updates as requested.

I've been struggling a lot with the loss of (now 2) of Odessa's sweet babies, as many of you can imagine it is both physically and emotionally draining being up every few hours to feed babies and of course falling in love with them, just for them to not be able to stay... My sweet little Hermes and Clio have both grown their wings. I held them both as they went to sleep.
Hercules and H**e are holding strong for now and I can only hope they continue to do so.

I just need a few days to deflate and dote on all my babies because this is once again my reminder of how quickly they can be taken from us.

I know these aren't the fun updates and kitten spam people like to see but I want to make sure I share all the realities of breeding even the hard parts, I can't say it's not for the faint of hearts because I'm really far too soft to do this, but it really is something else getting to watch these babies grow and thrive with their mummies whom I adore.

When the last kittens go home this season I know I'll cry again in the quiet and lack of chaos, as I will cry for the homes some babies never got to have.

Won't pretend that kitten cuddles are ever particularly glamourous, like most parts of cat ownership you just end up covered in hair LOL. But I love them something awful already and I can't wait for their new families to meet them, even though I know I'll cry when the last kitten leaves again...
