You will have a thorough understanding of anatomy well before you graduate and such images will be imprinted in your brain from a young age. Not every sick patient needs antibiotics. Mild symptoms, especially suspected viral respiratory or gastrointestinal illnesses, may be successfully treated with good diet, medicinal herbal support and pre/probiotics. Equine endocrine disorders such as Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS) and Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID) feature some striking clinical similarities, most notably a predisposition to the development of chronic laminitis. However, the underlying disease biology is quite different in each case.
