March Jumping Boneo
Our first show back after my knee reconstruction was a success! TH Silvermoon was a star in the metre, 1.10 and 1.15. So pleased with her not touching a single rail all weekend! Her rider was a bit rusty resulting in a circle in the 1.15m but still very pleased with our round. Now to get both of us jumping fit for the comps ahead! 🦄🌟
Back in the saddle!
Back in the saddle!!!! 3 months post knee reconstruction and I’m back! Lily taking care of her rider as usual 🦄
Saturdays are lesson days! “Our Best Guess” teaching one of our young riders about feel and connection in the bridle 🦄💜
Thank you Geelong Show Jumping Club for putting on a fantastic freshman weekend! TH Silvermoon stepped up to the 1.20 with a clear round even though the rider ran her long at jump 6 😂🦄. Also a big thank you to Dee (aka the best neighbour ever) for feeding and looking after the horses at home when we were away! We wouldn’t be able to do nearly as many comps without your help! Looking forward to a busy jumping season this year!
I’m often asked why I long line breakers (and retrainers) for 2-3 weeks prior to getting on. The answer is always the same. A young (and/or green) horse not only has to learn and understand a riders aids but also needs to build enough muscle to support the rider correctly. This is the first trot under saddle of a current breaker with us. There are no bucks, bolts, rears, etc.; the horse knows what is expected, what is being asked and is able to physically react appropriately as soon as the rider mounts up. Breaking in should be a positive experience forming the horse’s work foundation to be built on for years to come.
It was great to be back at Boneo after missing a few comps! TH Silvermoon was a unicorn as usual and jumped fantastically but a rider error led to one rail down early in the 1.15m class. Looking forward to Werribee for another go!
EOI FE Malachi - outstanding Contendro yearling
A big thank you to Boneo for hosting a wonderful show! We were very lucky to have another fantastic day with TH Silvermoon jumping double clear in the 1.15m class (with a 1.20m jump off)! Can’t wait for the next one! 🦄💜🌟
Our first show back for the new year and TH Silvermoon was a superstar jumping clear in the 1.10m. A big thank you to Jayson McKenzie for looking after the horses at home and Katie Moll for the warm up and moral support before our round! Let’s see what tomorrow brings🦄💜🙏🏻
That feeling when one of your littles go from learning how to canter to jumping like super star in just over a year! So proud! 💜
Lily decided to have a sleep in this morning and thought she would only wake up for some scratches 😂🤷🏻♀️
EOI - unfortunately children grown, ponies do not 😢. One of our students has recently moved onto a larger pony so this little gelding will be on the market soon. With more woah than go this little gelding has been there done that and is sure to make a little one very happy!
