A little bit different for us - this has been a little time in the works with more to come!

Goldfish is a 2yo pony filly - a pint-sized sweetie. With her handling completed she is currently a weanling minder - she assists with instilling calmness and confidence by showing the newbies how a little horse can safely lead and tie up - and, of course, how to eat all the treats and get all the cuddles!

If you have a Goldfish sized hole in your life and you would like to know more about her, please feel free to send me a message.

Lincoln starting back in work, moving through some basic obstacles....what a good boy!

15/12/2020

The planet's aligned and allowed for a sneaky mid-week afternoon of riding. Thanks to Sarah of Pegasus Lodge Stud and the always fabulous stallion Pegasus Lodge Silver Soverign for whisking us away in her big rig for some bush riding adventures!

This was Lincoln Road's first hack out and he was an absolute gem! ❤
Happy to ride in front or behind, he was a pleasure to hack out and will make someone a terrific trail-riding partner. He has a big forward walk and is responsive to aids. He is very comfortable and smooth gaited. Was very relaxed for the ride, and we threw some challenges in for him; a couple of steep bank climbs, a pop over a log and a walk down into and along a creek bed. Even a good in-hand gallop before steadying up for a loose rein walk back to the truck.
Not too shabby for a boy's first trip out!

Linc is currently available for rehoming for a measly $6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣.
Located Shepparton, Vic.

With the breeding season in full swing the riding horses have been enjoying paddock rest. Now the positive pregnancy tests are rolling through there is time to bring them back in....

Looking for his new forever home, Lincoln Road NZ.
6yo gelding, approximately 15.3hh

First the bad news: no beating around the bush, Link has ugly front legs! The near side tendon is uniformly thickened from knee to fetlock and the off side has pronounced fluid pockets above the fetlock. He has many racing miles under his belt and the tendon injury ended his successful racing career. His last racing stable retained him for the length of his rehabilitation program and sent him to me in terrific order, ready to commence the next stage of his preparation for life after racing.

The good news is how easily he is making that transition. He has the ground manners you should expect from a horse that has had the travelling he has. He is a dream to float, good to trim (I haven't had shoes on him and probably won't, we run our riding team barefoot where we can) and will stand tied up all day. Good with cars, bikes and dogs.

He has had limited riding but is reliable and fun to ride. He has a lovely big walk, good trot and a soft comfortable canter. He is not yet strong enough to hold the canter for long and still transitions through the pace. No nasties but will pigroot in canter, especially at upward transition.

Not a beginner's horse as he is still green and learning, looking for a rider with some experience and balance.
Ideally suit pleasure or trail riding.
Asking $600. Located Shepparton, Victoria.

Looking a little dashing in the evening!

Work in progress...
Lincoln is coming along really well in his adjustment to life as a riding horse. He is an easy ride, has a lovely big walk and loping canter. Still transitioning through the pace while he develops the strength and balance with a rider (and let's be honest, I'm not the lighter jockey of my youth!!) But calm under saddle and expect he will be a terrific trail horse.

Cowboy: "but i is itchy!"

Sometimes when you've been so good riding through the Bush you just get a little itchy and your person says it's ok to give yourself a bit of a rub in the dirt!!

Wet weekend but managed to squeeze in some x-country schooling. Silver's first time on course, a bit sharp to start but what a little ripper she was.

17/06/2020

Silver, with a little more schooling...fabulous little mare, takes everything in her stride and just gets more confident with each outing. This was her second trip floated out to our local pony club grounds. Excellent ground manners and floats like a dream. Nice way to top off a weekend

Our Silver Dollar Girl NZ

Black mare, DOB 3/12/2007. Brand: 07Z1940
14.3hh

Started under saddle at the end of April, 2020.

Sliver has been with us since retiring from the track and commencing stud duties. A daughter of Bettor's Delight, she has had 3 foals - and has been a lovely mum! Because of her temperament, she was always a stud favourite and we felt she was ideally suited to life as a pleasure horse.

Under saddle she has come forward easily and has made the adjustment very well - she is increasing in confidence with each new outing or experience.

She would be suitable for a rider with some experience. She is not suitable for a beginner or nervous rider as she is forward and can get hot in new environments. She has a very soft mouth and is very willing to try. The canter is coming but is not established. She shows aptitude for jumping and would make a lovely PC/ARC mount. Super fun little horse!

Very good ground manners, good to float, tie, shoe.

Price reduced, $1500 neg.
