The big boy has done it again! Two wins in his last three starts š
Tonight he was the winner of the third heat. One of his best runs ever was in heat two last weekend where he came fourth in a race that wasnāt run to suit him but he still flashed home in incredible fashion. So we really thought heād have it tonight and he certainly didnāt disappoint.
Bring on the final next weekend š„°
Huge thanks to Peter Dornauf for the little things you do for Kyle, Nadine Burns for giving him a paddock to have a short rest in to be ready for this series and his connections for trusting Kyle with your investment- which has turned out to be a fantastic one š
And thatās a wrap for Mini trot season 23/24 for Faith and Copper. And the last time theyāll ever partner together as Faith finishes up her time in the mini trots.
They completed their final meeting winning the first race very comfortably with him absolutely flying round the track, but he had nothing left for race 2 and finished a short distance behind the rest.
Thanks to Stacey Lear for the photos and tasracing for providing the lovely framed keepsake for them all to have. What a lovely idea it was š
Well done Leo and Kyle!
Another absolutely mammoth run from near the backā¦ following after a huge 2nd place on Friday. This boy still manages to surprise us.
šš
6th of November this bloke threw Kyle off at 40km/hr after a Pademelon ran across the track in front of them. Itās been a 2 month recovery process, and a hard time for us. But we love Bobby and heās looking so good!
Reunited for the first time on the track and theyāre having a good time š„°
So many ponies for the races today, everyone is in- 10 ponies!
On the way in, and the way out. Bobby (A Good Red) Loves to play- but creates a traffic jam each time š¤£
Bobby- A Good Red, not as good at swimming as Cali, but loves the water. Would rather play in it than swim š¤£
Cali- Micton Aroha loves a good swim. You can hear Bobby isnāt impressed heās been left behind on this last lap š¤£
Took the big ponies down to the local boat ramp for their swim.
Cali (Micton Aroha), and Bobby (A Good Red).
They love the water, especially on a hot day - donāt they look great!
Our miniās did it again last night at Burnie. Well done Copper and Faith!
A good second place in the first race off a 30m handicap from the eventual winner, but brought home the goods in the second race off about a 20m handicap.
Heās behaving so well now, hope he keeps it up for the rest of the season š¤£
Shots from our miniās from Sunday night where they won the first and got pipped by a nose in the second.
We were running so late after a lot of family things and she only managed to hit the parade ring and join the others in time to head onto the track. And we forgot his number š¤¦āāļø
itās the quickest heās probably ever been geared up. Iām sure we set some kind of record š¤£
Thanks Stacey for the photos!

We thought she won both but got pipped by a nose in the second. Two great races though and the best heās behaved in so long š„°
He put on a show for friends and family just like his mate Leo š
And Leo does it again! Thatās five for the season so far š„°
Continues to show us how good he is, and hits the line so hard every race. Still 10-15m off the front with 100m to go but we never wrote him off.
What a great end to an amazing weekend for Kyle, Faith, Elijah and I after we finally tied the knot yesterday š
Glad he got up with family and friends there to watch.
Huge thanks to Kent for helping me keep Leo going over the last three weeks. I think we can claim this one as our training win š
Brilliant drive as always Rohan, glad Leo has rewarded you for us š
Our miniās Faith and Copper also made it home first in both of their races š„° (photos to come soon!). Copper behaved beautifully for once, showing off for family and friends š¤£
Leo makes it four for the season!
What a Great end to a terrible week!
Great drive by the master, and the result we so badly needed.
Thanks Kent for all your help this week - youāve gone above and beyondā¦ and Rohan for taking the drive and doing an amazing job š
Thanks also to my parents for babysitting a huge amount so I could try fill even a tiny bit of kyleās shoes.
Another positive- Kyle will most likely get sent home now for waking everyone up on the ward with his cheering š¤£
Selection of photos from Sundays Race meet from Stacey Lear Photographyā¦ photos of our Miniās and Leo (Loyola Trios) and Tara (Tigerlicious- the close up photo). Leo smashed home from the back coming very wide in a mammoth effort to come 5th, Tara is getting better every start and finished off very well for a nice 4th. Not bad for the tiny girl!
Theyāre both racing against each other in Hobart Sunday night š¤£
Faith and Copper took out the first race of the 23/24 season last night, and beaten by a neck in the second. Not a bad start for our miniās š
Guess what time of year it is for our miniās!
Trials completed this morning where he behaved beautifully (except the start of the first race because the starter tried to touch him- big no-no š¤£)
The season starts next weekend š
Theyāre back!
Pratten Racing miniās Faith and Copper had their first day back on the track since April. Getting ready for the ā23/ā24 season. They both went great. He kept his gait, stood beautifully and went straight into a trot when asked. The break is just what they both needed š
Pratten Racing said goodbye to our boy Vinnie (Keayang Da Vinci) today. Heās gone to a new home for his retirement, ready to be spoilt rotten by a young girl and her mother.
Unfortunately we didnāt get to race him more than a couple of times as he was a horse that needed to constantly race to start with to keep weight off and fit, but the programming just didnāt suit his class & he wasnāt getting the starts.
We decided to let him retire and heās been a paddock companion for our little Copper ever sinceā¦. Who is an absolute mess now heās gone the poor thing.
Hopefully we find somewhere for Faith to stable and work him in a month ready for mini season and he wonāt remember heās just lost his best friend.
Leo and Kyle just won the Latrobe Cup,
What good boys š„°
Fantastic drive Kyle, reward for all your hard work!
Nice little write up on Leo š„°
