Variety is the spice of life they say, and at the moment we’ve got a very fun little mix of different horses of different age, discipline, and education level.
Now I don’t squeeze myself into breeches very often, but I do make the odd concession!
This is Kitty, she’s an off the track thoroughbred with a lovely disposition and work ethic! Her owner has sent her up to work on getting her canter more balanced and structured than it has been in the past. This is ride #3 and she is coming along beautifully by looking for that softness in her poll through the trot and is loving having leg pressure as the cue to soften. She tries her heart out with the canter and once she gets more confident through the upward transition her and her owner will be on their way as a team!

This handsome fella has been with us for just over 24 hours. Jumped on him today bareback- he wasn’t too sure about it all but handled it like a champ. After about 10 minutes figured we’d really test him and dropped the bridle. Turned out he had never been ridden bareback before- what a cool customer! 🕺🏼

A great gelding who stepped up to the plate! Django has been with me for the last three weeks after getting evacuated from the Sydney floods. We’ve been working on getting him balanced and finding his feet to be able to run some good circles- think we got the circles down!
Thanks Andrew & Racquel for giving me the opportunity to ride this big fella and can’t wait to get Trypp out here in the show pen soon!

Django is a fantastic little gelding who is also in for a tune up due to time off with flooding. Working mainly on just keeping that fluid forward motion and guiding off body, Django is loved by a teenage boy who is learning to rein on him. A lovely gelding to have in the barn with lots of talent and sense!
-TWENTY FOUR CARAT MAGIC-
Anyone who knows me will have seen Little before. She’s a 5 year old Recycled Genetics filly. I have a total soft spot for this gal. She’s back in for a tune up after having a few months off due to flooding. She’s got oodles of talent and I love seeing her do her thing! Look forward to seeing her and her little girl take on the show pen in the future!!
Days like this as a trainer that just plain make me smile!
Andrew & Cougar have been getting weekly lessons with me for just over a month. A great team just needing to deepen their connection. Andrew has been committed to finding and perfecting his feel for pressure/release, and Cougar has been taking it gratefully after being a bit over-held on the bridle.
Today was a milestone- Andrew put in major work during the week between lessons and you can just see how it’s paid off! Ran some beautiful circles today with the bridle, then I challenged this pair and slipped off the bridle (first time ever for Andrew). They didn’t miss a beat. Willingly guided, soft, and kind!
Love when hard work pays off.
