To all of my incredibly valued clients, friends, and clients that are more like family…
Just a notice to let you all know I will be packing up my little rat dog and making my way back home to the US on April 27th for a permanent relocation.
I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has trusted me with their horse, themselves, and their relationships with their equine companion. You have all been so kind to me and I cannot tell you how grateful I am for your part in the journey of self discovery and growth I have been able to go on through Sure Shot Horsemanship. I have grown as a person, as well as a horsewoman- and for your part in that I am eternally grateful to each and every one of you.
I am sure you will all do great things in your life with your horses by your side and I look forward to closing out my last few weeks here helping you all achieve your goals and setting new ones. With that being said if you would like a lesson before I leave, please ensure you book in with me ASAP, unless we have talked about it in person or on the phone. I want to squeeze you all in as best I can, but time is fleeting.

I look forward to this view in Montana in the near future, but I truly will miss you all.

- 1 x Ord River Drafter Half Breed Saddle. Seat has been chewed a bit by mice- but doesnt affect anything. Great saddle for breakers. $200

A truly tough sale, this gelding holds a big place in my heart. Only available due to an overseas move.
ME Pink Wimp, 13 y/o finished reining gelding. 14.1hh.

Tex is a finished gelding with three lovely paces. Has been shown lightly in the reining, however would excel in ranch also.
He has a fantastic work ethic, a soft and kind mind, as well as talent to boot.
All maneuvers are well established and he knows his job.
After showing him myself this past year I have learnt that he’s an easy going gelding to show with the ability to cruise around AND also step up into your 70+ box.
This dude is a certified legend, but does thrive on consistency, so someone who is wanting to give him a job would be ideal. I have so much respect for this gelding, so a top notch home is a must.

Variety is the spice of life they say, and at the moment we’ve got a very fun little mix of different horses of different age, discipline, and education level.
Now I don’t squeeze myself into breeches very often, but I do make the odd concession!
This is Kitty, she’s an off the track thoroughbred with a lovely disposition and work ethic! Her owner has sent her up to work on getting her canter more balanced and structured than it has been in the past. This is ride #3 and she is coming along beautifully by looking for that softness in her poll through the trot and is loving having leg pressure as the cue to soften. She tries her heart out with the canter and once she gets more confident through the upward transition her and her owner will be on their way as a team!

Absolute legend of a mare and am truly enjoying having her in the barn! Thank you Cheryl for trusting my program!

8 year old 15.3hh reining trained gelding, dual registered Quarter horse and Paint Horse. Shown by both non-pro and open riders. Joe has all maneuvers well established and boasts three well balanced gaits, as well as a smooth natural stop. Rides on a draped rein with a lovely level headset. Joe has been in training here for 4 weeks and has been a joy, he does not require a lunge down, is easy to catch, and has a very agreeable personality. No buck, or rear. Has been taken on trail and is happy to ride out alone, or in groups. Although Joe has had most of his experience in the reining pen, I believe he would also excel in the ranch events as he is very versatile.

18 Johnson's Natural Formula Rider Bags heading down to Glenworth Valley tomorrow for their Adult Riding Club day, will be great to meet lots of new faces and spend a (hopefully) clear and sunny Sunday teaching riders to find their feel with their horses and grow their relationships with their equine counterpart, as well as educating them about fueling their horses with the best!

Here at Sure Shot we tend to throw our horses in the deep end, in the best way possible!
This handsome fella has been with us for just over 24 hours. Jumped on him today ba****ck- he wasn’t too sure about it all but handled it like a champ. After about 10 minutes figured we’d really test him and dropped the bridle. Turned out he had never been ridden ba****ck before- what a cool customer! 🕺🏼

A great gelding who stepped up to the plate! Django has been with me for the last three weeks after getting evacuated from the Sydney floods. We’ve been working on getting him balanced and finding his feet to be able to run some good circles- think we got the circles down!

It seems to be that the longest days are usually the most worth it- and that surely was the case yesterday at the NSW Reining Horse Association July Jackpot Show held at K Ranch Arena.

Was a massive day for Sure Shot Horsemanship, we welcomed a new family to their first reining show with C**t and Avalon McLachlan making their arena debut both on board Twenty Four Carat Magic, a five year old filly who is very near and dear to my heart. Couldn’t have been more proud of the kids and their perseverance through nerves and excitement!

Katie Munro also had a fantastic end to her show after a few bobbles in her first run , she worked it out and came through victorious in her final class!

So grateful for the opportunity to ride great horses and teach great people. For horses like Twenty Four Carat Magic who has never been to an indoor arena or a show, and just packed around her two kiddos- it makes me incredibly proud of both horse and riders! A massive shoutout to the committee, volunteers, the scribe Lee Erlin, and judge Todd McCormick for their time and efforts. These shows don’t run without the hours y’all put into them- so thank you.

We’ll be seeing you on down the road at NSWRHA State Show, but until then if anyone needs me I’ll be somewhere on the river in Oregon soaking up as much sun as I can… engage vacation mode!

Wanted to shout out to Sure Shot Horsemanship rider Katie Munro for an outstanding effort today in both her Beginner Ranch and Amateur Reining classes at the Sydney Quarter Horse Association Winter show.
Initially I planned to attend this show with Katie, however had something come up. Katie challenged herself and went solo with her lovely mare Lily. Katie has never entered a ranch class, nor ran a reining pattern one handed- today she did both! She stepped up to the plate and it paid off, bringing home a first place in ranch and making massive improvements in her reining game. Hard work and commitment to the program has led to a mare happily running on a draped rein- kind and willingly guided. Love to see these positive changes. You should be very proud of yourselves tonight girls- I know I’m proud of you two!

Django is a fantastic little gelding who is also in for a tune up due to time off with flooding. Working mainly on just keeping that fluid forward motion and guiding off body, Django is loved by a teenage boy who is learning to rein on him. A lovely gelding to have in the barn with lots of talent and sense!
