This is the message I received from Chris his owner....
" He's a joy to us all. Loves a car ride. Insatiable appetite for tummy scratches. Isn't scared of thunder. Is scared of dog door flap. Loves meeting people. And yes he sleeps on my bed!

Thanks for the gift he brings us 🙏...hope you and your dog family are well 👍"

I am so happy when I see photos and receive updates from my families. It blows my mind how many families we have made whole ❤️. I feel very lucky to have been part of everyone's family 👪

• Volhards Puppy Aptitude Testing •

We have just completed temperament assessments on the pups and have had some interesting results. We tested them on day 48 with day 49 being the most optimal for their development.

The tests are as follows:
1. Social Attraction - degree of social attraction to people, confidence or dependence.
2. Following - willingness to follow a person.
3. Restraint - degree of dominant or submissive tendency, and ease of handling in difficult
situations.
4. Social Dominance - degree of acceptance of social dominance by a person.
5. Elevation - degree of accepting dominance while in a position of no control, such as at the
veterinarian or groomer.
6. Retrieving - degree of willingness to do something for you. Together with Social Attraction and
Following a key indicator for ease or difficulty in training.
7. Touch Sensitivity - degree of sensitivity to touch and a key indicator to the type of training
equipment required.
8. Sound Sensitivity - degree of sensitivity to sound, such as loud noises or thunderstorms.
9. Sight Sensitivity - degree of response to a moving object, such as chasing bicycles, children or
squirrels.
10. Stability - degree of startle response to a strange object.

The pups are tested by a tester that is not known to the pup and is scored from 1-6. Once complete the number the pup gets the most of is their considered score.

Here are the results:

**FRECKLE**
Mostly 2’s
Leadership aspirations
High self-confidence
Not suitable for inexperienced homes
Too unruly for children, elderly, or other animals
Needs strict schedule, exercise, and training
Potential show dog with experienced owner

**NUTMEG, GINGER, PEPPER, HOLLY**
Mostly 3’s
High-energy, needs exercise
Good with people and animals
Can be a handful
Learns quickly, needs training
Suitable for second-time owners

**CHESTNUT, COOKIE, IVY**
Mostly 4’s
Ideal first pet, easy to train
Good with elderly and children (may need protection)
Quiet and easy-going
Requires obedience training for best results

**MOCHA**
Mostly 5’s
Fearful, shy, needs special handling
Easily stressed, may run away
Afraid of loud noises and thunderstorms
Best suited for a quiet, stable home without children.

Ivy here tested wonderfully and is well suited for families ❤️

I really believe we offer a wonderful start in life for our furbabies. I am a little bit biased of course! Who wouldn't want to spend their days raising pups 😉

I am beyond grateful for the families who have chosen us. The smiles, tears of joy, phone calls, messages and videos of you all continuing to LOVE your furbabies is what makes me realise how lucky I am. Not only that I have placed pups in the right homes, but I have found my people! Thank you, and I can't wait to see what 2025 brings ❤️
