We’re so excited to announce the start of our Basic Obedience Class for Term 1!

This class is designed for dogs aged 6 months and older, and it was wonderful to see such a great mix of familiar faces from previous group classes and services, along with some new faces ready to learn.

Week 1 is all about setting the foundation for success. We covered:
🐾 Building strong relationships with our dogs
🐾 Creating motivation to help them learn and grow
🐾 Managing their behaviour to prevent unwanted or dangerous habits
🐾 Introducing markers as an essential means of communication

The dogs and their owners did an amazing job taking in and applying the information, and it was so rewarding to see the beginnings of progress and connection. Every dog brings a unique personality, and we love tailoring the class experience to suit their individual needs and goals.

Our small class size, combined with the support of multiple trainers, ensures that every team gets personalised guidance while still benefiting from the social and dynamic environment of a group setting.

We can’t wait to see how these teams grow and develop over the coming weeks!

Term 2 dates for Basic Obedience are now open for enrolment. Classes will begin on May the 3rd.

We are thrilled to announce the start of Term 1 of our Puppy Foundations Class!

This 8-week program welcomes six eager puppies and their dedicated owners, and we couldn’t be more excited to begin this journey together.

Week 1 is always a favourite—it’s all about introductions, setting the tone, and laying the most important groundwork for successful training. Today, we focused on:
🐾 Building strong relationships with our puppies
🐾 Creating motivation to help them learn and grow
🐾 Managing their behaviour to prevent unwanted or dangerous habits
🐾 Introducing markers as an essential means of communication

We love the diversity in our class, with a mix of breeds, personalities, and enthusiastic owners. Our small class size, along with three trainers and our amazing NDTF student Samantha (currently completing her placement with us), ensures that each team receives personalised attention while enjoying the benefits of a group training environment.

Everyone did a fantastic job taking in and applying what they learned today. It’s inspiring to see how much potential these puppies have, and we can’t wait to watch them develop over the coming weeks.

This program is delivered in collaboration with Sharon from The Well-Mannered Mutt and hosted at Ted’s Place Adventure & Training Park.

It’s been incredible to watch your dogs’ skills develop and see your teamwork in action. You’ve all achieved so much—well done!

A big thank you to Mandy from Conservation and Detection Dogs SA for running such a fantastic class and generously sharing her knowledge and expertise. Your guidance has been invaluable to everyone!

This marks the end of our Scent Detection classes for 2024, but we’ve already planned an exciting lineup for 2025. We’ve scheduled 4 terms of Scent Detection classes next year, with spots limited to just 5 teams per class to ensure quality training and individual attention. Spaces are already filling up fast!
