Fact day Monday
Male goats (bucks) have multiple scent glands that produce an odor that's most noticeable during breeding season (this is why I reccomend wethers to keep as pets if you are not breeding. Wethers do not smell)
* Cornual glands - Located behind the base of the horns, these glands are the primary source of a buck's odour.
* Sebaceous glands - Located around the base of the horns, these glands produce pheromones that attract does.
* Other glands - Located on the neck and shoulders, these glands also become active during breeding season.
These scent glands are stimulated by testosterone, making the odor most offensive during the breeding season. Although the sexually active buck will urinate on his face and forelegs, the buck odour is not in the urine.
