Late last night I received a concerned call from one of my Coes Creek locals. A Coastal Carpet Python managed to find a way in through a hole in the fly screen and make his way into the toilet.
Not before knocking over and breaking some stuff 🤦🏼‍♂️

Late last night I received a call from a lady who lives in Maleny. She had come home and the two baby chicks she had inside were missing. After a quick search she found the tail of this Brown Tree Snake going up into her pantry cupboard. She was pretty sure it was a Brown Tree Snake. She gave me a call and asked if I could come and remove it for her. After removing the snake we noticed the snake didn't actually have the chicks. Thank you Ben for heading out to Buderim to remove this beautiful and very calm Coastal Carpet Python. Some of you on the coast may already know Ben, he used to have a snake removal business a couple of years ago. Since then he's started working with fauna management and surveying while finishing a Bachelor of Animal Ecology degree. I'm very confident with the team of catchers I recommend. I trust in their catching skills and knowledge of snake behaviour which is super important in this job. You're going to be seeing more of them this season so keep an eye out. I had a ridiculously busy day today. I had to rely of both Ben and Max throughout the day to get it done. But we got there 😁

On Sunday one of my long time followers gave me a call about a couple of Coastal Carpet Pythons inside his shed at Rosemount.

After grabbing both snakes he could see, I spotted a third and asked if they wanted this one removed too haha.
He was obviously keen.

Normally they leave the pythons be, but after spotting more than one inside the shed, they wanted their space back 🤣
Understandable.

Snakes were put back in the bush away from shed 👍🏼

Thank you Max for heading out this morning and removing a Coastal Carpet Python from a childcare centre in Caloundra.
While he was there he was more than happy to do a quick show and tell with the kids and talk snake safety before bagging it up and taking it back to the bush.

I've said it before and I'll say it a lot more, education is the biggest part of a snake catchers job.

It was awesome the kids got to take advantage of the situation and learn something new.

The reason Max had to go to this job is because I was on the way to a different childcare centre to remove another python.

Like Max, I also did a show and tell for the kids.

This has been one of the toughest times in my life, but it’s something I wanted to share.
Not because I want sympathy, but because I want to show respect for how much I loved my mum.

Two weeks ago, she passed away. Instead of focusing on the sadness, I want to say how thankful I am for every moment I had with her. She was the kind of lady that if you knew her, you were friends for life. I know a lot of you here did know her. I talked about her often, and she talked about me just as much ❤️

Thank you to Ben and Max for covering calls while I’ve needed some time off — it’s always a team effort.

Rest in peace, Mum.

This is a really cool film of two male Coastal Carpet Pythons fighting over a nearby female. They only do this around breeding season. Boys are funny like that 🤣
