This morning I received a call about a large Coastal Carpet Python who crossed a road in Mooloolah Valley and decided to hide up under a caravan.

This big unit didn’t want to come out straight away and went up under the water tank.
Not the easiest situation as I couldn’t reach the snake where it was.
With some gentle tail tickles, he eventually decided to come back out.

Not a bad size snake to start the day.

Lucky it was spotted before the girls were put back for bed time.

Eastern Brown I removed from a local school for today.

It was first spotted inside on of the class rooms.
Took me 10 mins to arrive, snake was on the move and not keen on me getting close.

This beauty was relocated to a much safer area.

Lace Monitor removed from a chicken coop in Obi Obi.

This isn’t the best film as you can’t see me grab it.
But you get to hear the conversation I have with the lizard leading up to the moment I bring it out 🤣
He was hissing a lot, letting me know he wasnt interested in becoming friends.

Because it was semi cornered and up at face height, I definitely had to move carefully.
I stayed calm and moved in slowly to get the grab.
He was nicely gripped onto the wall, that’s what all the noise is coming from.

I just wanted to make a post about advice you may receive from people about snakes.

It’s never a bad idea to get a second opinion if the advice your given doesn’t feel right!
Like every industry, you’re going to have some people that give amazing advice and others not so great.

I had a lady reach out to me recently after getting some really poor advice about snakes.
She knew it didn’t feel right and reached out to me and another local catcher to see what our opinions were.
She told me we both gave very similar advice which was the complete opposite of the other catcher.

I'm not writing this to call out or embarrass anyone. It's just a reminder to trust your gut if the advice doesn't feel right.
It's never a bad idea to get multiple opinions.

Lots of snakes won't be a problem if you leave them alone.
Every situation is different and I'm always happy to answer any questions to help you come up with a decision.

I pride myself on my honest advice.

I won't pretend to be closer than I am to lock in a job. I'll always give you a reliable ETA.

I'll never pretend the situation you're in is more dangerous than it is just to lock in a job. I'll always try to educate and ease fear.
I'd rather save my time and your money by not relocating snakes unnecessarily.
