This was one tricky Eastern Brown to catch.

Well actually it was a tricky Eastern Brown to find 🤣

Five return visits is what this snake took out of me.
Don’t worry. That’s not 5 call out fees.
I only charged $90 for this as it was just around the corner from my house and I was very excited to catch it.
So I offered to keep coming back until I did.

It was hiding under a concrete slab and would
come out to sun bake right at the entrance to the chicken coop.
Hoping it would move on, or at least find a better sunning spot.
After multiple scares from this snake, the home owner asked if I could take it back to the bush away from the family and pets.

As you can see by the smile, I was very excited to find it there today.
After multiple visits and not seeing it once, I wasn’t about to let it get away today when it was there haha.

Very healthy Eastern Small-eyed Snake I removed from a tool shed in Palmwoods over the weekend.
He was found hiding under a tool bag that had been sitting on the ground for a few weeks.
Perfect spot for a snake to sleep.
If you want less chances to find snakes, give them less places to hide in spots you don’t want to find them 😁
Keep things off the ground when possible.
Snakes are looking for warm places to sleep right now.

It was a property full of snake catchers, obviously I was going to make friends 🤣

Snake catcher end of season party 🎉

One of the well known Gold Coast snake catchers has invited every licensed catcher to meet at his big property in Logan over the weekend.
I’ve made lots of friends in this industry and lots I haven’t met yet.
This event is going to be a great place to meet some of them and make some more.
With over 100 snake catchers in one place, I’m sure it will be easy to find people to get along with 🤣

Just because I’m not on the coast, that doesn’t mean you can’t call me.

On Wednesday night I received a called from one of my concerned followers because a Coastal Carpet Python grabbed a Currawong at her back door and was slowing eating it right in front of them.
I explained over the phone, the snake isn’t going to be interested in doing much after a feed like that.
Finding a nice warm spot to sleep the night away, then comes the sun baking to help digest the meal.
Being winter, this meal will be the last this snake has til it warms back up.
She understood the snake wasn’t out to get her but she still really didn’t want it hanging around after that meal.
And that’s ok.
I was more than happy to find it a nice safe spot in the bush away from her pets.

Yesterday I was called out to a home in Mooloolah Valley for a couple of snakes hiding in an aircon unit.
The aircon was getting worked on by a professional and when he went to lift the cover, he spotted a brown coloured snake.

The work stopped and I was callled.
I arrived shortly after the phone call and found three Brown Tree Snakes hiding in the aircon unit.

I removed those snakes and headed out to my next job.
A couple of hours went by and I received another call from this home.
This time it was for a Red-bellied Black Snake hiding in the outside aircon unit.

Talk about the perfect house for me 😆

Talk about a busy winters day.
At one stage my phone wouldn’t stop ringing haha.
Lots of free advice given as per normal, and a few snakes needing relocating.
One of them is this gorgeous Coastal Carpet Python who was hanging around a chicken coop in Mons.

On a “normal cold winters day” snakes don’t think about eating as their digestive system slows right down to save energy.

But the temp got to around 24 today and I caught two pythons will full bellies.
Not unheard of.
But not normal for winter.

Just goes to show snakes don’t care about the date, they pay attention to the temperature and act accordingly.
