Hi everyone! πŸ˜ƒ I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to those of you whom I haven’t yet met!

My name is Emily. I grew up in the Belgian countryside and was fortunate enough to be thrown into the world of horses from a very young age. 🐴

With an ex-jockey as a mother, you could say I was genetically predisposed to get the β€˜horse bug’. And sure enough… I learned to ride my ponies; Harley, Lena and Poppy in the hills of the Ardennes. To this day, trail rides are still my preferred way to spend time in the saddle. 🌿

I began taking my riding more seriously at the age of 12. I spent most weekends either competing in showjumpingπŸ†, trail riding🌳, or somewhere in the paddock with my horses. 🐎

When my parents decided to move across the world to Australia, my competition days came to an end. Though my riding career may have slowed down, my interest in horses did not. I have always had a foot in the equestrian world in order to get my 'horse fix'. 😜

Eventually, I decided caring for and riding other people's horses wasn't enough anymore and so, in 2021, my partner and I moved to the Sunshine Coast to start Primmley Equestrian! 🀩πŸ₯³

Now, my days consist of caring for my furr family (🐴&🐢), exploring new horse trails with friends, and if I can get away from the ponies, I do love a day at the beachπŸ– with a good book. πŸ“–

I'm currently enrolled in a nationally accredited Diploma in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy to undergo further training and continue expanding my knowledge of the equine-human relationship. ✍🏼

I'm also in the process of becoming an EA accredited horse riding coach. πŸ‡

I am fully insured and safety practices are employed during all of my lessons to keep both riders and horses safe.

I look forward to meeting some more of you soon! πŸ˜ƒ

On this Mother's Day, I want to give a special shoutout to one of Primmley Equestrian's greatest supporters - my amazing mother! ❀

Her unwavering dedication and support have been critical in bringing this venture to life. From quietly working behind the scenes to listening to all of my ideas, she has been a constant source of encouragement.

But her influence on my passion for horses started long before Primmley. She instilled in me a love for animals from a very young age, spending countless weekends driving me to show jumping competitions, tacking up horses while I walked the course, and offering a listening ear when I hit roadblocks. Without her unwavering support and guidance, I would not be where I am today, pursuing my dreams with these beautiful animals. 🐴🌻

I will never be able to thank her enough for being the driving force behind my journey in the equestrian world.

To all the mothers and motherly women out there, I want to say thank you. Thank you for your unwavering love, your tireless efforts, and your endless support. You are appreciated more than you know, and today, we celebrate you and all that you do.

Happy Mother's Day! 🌷

The horsies will all be enjoying some time off while I am out of action. 🌿🐎

I will miss seeing all of your smiling faces in the arena, and I know the ponies will miss all the attention and treats!

We will be back up and running our group lessons, homeschool programs and private lessons the first week in July! 🐴🌻

I look forward to seeing you all then πŸ˜ƒ

We often incorporate ground poles in our lessons for a number of reasons. 🐴

They are an excellent tool for both horse and rider, helping to improve balance, coordination and overall fitness. πŸ€ΈπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

They're also a stepping stone for the riders wanting to progress to jumping.

Andy here is showing us how it's done! πŸ˜ƒπŸ’ͺ🏼

It's always a pleasure watching these two together. 🀩
They've developed such a great bond and I know Andy loves these types of playful sessions πŸ₯°

Hello Everyone! 🌻

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen medical issues, I will be needing surgery in May which means I will be out of action for the majority of next term.

Sadly, this means our homeschooling group sessions and after school group lessons will not be running next term (Term 2).

We will continue offering private lessons up until the 5th of May so if you’re wanting to get a ride in, now is the time! πŸ˜€

All of our usual activities will be back in full swing as of the 5th of July! 🀩🐴

Yesterday, one of our chooks was feeling a bit under the weather so Nitya spent some time comforting her in the shade. πŸ”

He figured out that she would only eat the sunflower seeds out of the chicken feed mix and picked all of them out of the scoop for her! 🌻😍

She's feeling all better today, most likely thanks to the excellent care she received yesterday πŸ˜ƒ

How might spending time around horses impact your child?

Not only do they learn valuable lessons about responsibility and determination, but they also develop a sense of empathy and connection with animals. πŸ΄πŸ€

They learn to appreciate the horse's needs and feelings, and develop a sense of responsibility for their well-being.

Horses teach kids about patience, trust, and communication, and can even help boost their confidence and self-esteem.

Horses are gentle animals that respond well to kindness and understanding.

So if you have a little one in your life, consider introducing them to the wonderful world of horses! 🐴❀️

We are now halfway through the Term of our Homeschooling Group Session!

For many of our participants, this is a brand new endeavour, some of them never having even ridden a horse before. πŸ˜ƒ

Over the last 5 weeks, these boys and girls have learned to tack up, free lunge, ride ba****ck and today, some of them even cantered for the first time! 🐴

They impress me tremendously with their problem solving skills and team work!πŸ’ͺ🏽 It's always a pleasure to see them helping each other out when grooming, tacking up, mounting safely or fixing up stirrups. πŸ‡πŸ†

The most fulfilling part, is watching the wonderful bonds they are now starting to develop with their chosen horsey 😍
