PLEASE DON’T FEED WILD BIRDS
It is difficult to ensure they are receiving the correct nutrients and it can have seriously detrimental affects to their health. You also do not want them to become dependent on humans for food (what happens if you go on holidays or move away). In some species communal feeding grounds also creates a space for deadly viruses to spread among flocks.

I had a magpie visit me today in the yard. It is clearly used to someone feeding it and it is showing signs of serious nutrient deficiencies and even what looks to be the beginnings of beak rot. So please if you insist on feeding them (which you shouldn’t) at least make sure they are being given all the necessary nutrients (not just plain mince).

Today I came across a Kangaroo left in the middle of the road to pull it off the road and find a joey had passed away inside. I can not stress this enough please please please check wildlife as more often then not there is usually a second life there.

Thanks to Dave's help even though we didn't have a win.
We were leaving Strathbogie cemetery after my Nanas funeral and came across this mumma that had been hit, checking the pouch we discovered a little baby boy.
I can not stress enough how important it is to check wildlife as instead of 2 lives lost it may have been a possibility of only one if this little guy had been handed to a wildlife carer for a fighting chance.
Please if you hit an animal please check the animal then for babies as every life matters.
If you see an injured animal please call Wildlife Victoria on 0384007300 and one of us will be out to the location ASAP

Rescued this little guy off the middle of the road after people kept putting their cars over him as he was struggling to get his footing. Was worried he may have broken a leg so home he came. The first 24 hours of a rescue are extremely important. Good news is this little fellow has made it through the night and sitting on a perch

Rescued two turtles in three days with Dave's help.
The floodwater is bringing so many animals out in the open for possible injury or even death.
These little ones were on a main road risking their lives.
Thankfully one of these turtles was uninjured. The other has an injured shell that is now in the hands of Donna who will hopefully be able to fibreglass the shell and be released back into the wild.
Please please be cautious on roads

Today is World Snow Leopard day.
Now I know these vulnerable cats are not native to Australia but I still want to share facts about all wild animals as everyone of them is as important as the next.
Snow Leopards can be found in the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia.
It is believed their population ranges from 4,000 to 6,500.
Snow Leopards are usually solitary and highly exclusive creatures with having a usual two to three cubs in a litter.
In the wild these amazing creatures can live for 10-12 years.

Today is Wombat Day
This little boy lost his mumma when she was hit and he was thrown from her pouch to survive on his own. At this stage of their life survival rate is little to none. This little guy went to the hands of Shirley who has spent a lot of time with him working up his size and strength to be released back into the wild on his own. He was lucky enough that I came across him in his time of need when many others would just drove pass. Please check all pouches of animals to be sure that is not a little one struggling to survive.

Today is reptile awareness day.
Unfortunately this evening I tried to get a turtle off a bridge but by the time I turned around 3 cars had passed and 1 if not all of them had hit and killed this turtle. Please please be careful on the roads. At the moment the floods have brought out more animals so we need to be vigilant
