Hawkesbury Race Club Limited trainer Ed O’Rourke is keen to set the record straight today & win his first race at a track where he once trained.

O’Rourke, who trained at Royal Randwick earlier in his career, has never won a race there, and is hoping to clinch a hat-trick with his talented sprinter Iron Man in a Benchmark 78 Handicap (1200m).

Hawkesbury Race Club Limited trainers Ed O‘Rourke and Terry Croft have clocked up the kilometres this week – and it has all been worthwhile.

The pair won races at Grafton’s July carnival during the week; O’Rourke with Twin Turbo (Zac Lloyd) and Croft with Hot Jive (Alysha Collett).

They returned home for further success; O’Rourke with Iron Man (pictured) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, and Croft with Royal Veloute on his home track on Sunday.

O’Rourke almost made it three winners in a few days when Barellan Bandit ($6.50) was narrowly beaten by Let Me Reign ($4) in the Hawkesbury closer. Read more 👇📸 Bradley_Photos O'Rourke Racing

EDWARD O’Rourke gave a confident pitch to champion apprentice Zac Lloyd to book him for Twin Turbo at Grafton today.

“I told him to make sure he took the mount because I expected him to win,” the Hawkesbury trainer revealed after the pair had combined to land the Class 2 Showcase Handicap (1600m) at the feature Ramornie Handicap meeting.

📣Lot 220 is coming home with us!

After combing through the Inglis HTBA draft, carefully vetting and inspecting, we whittled down our final shortlist to some absolute diamonds. One of which was this Anders c**t out proven Charge Forward mare. With that mummy/daddy combo you know this guy is going to be all speed. 💨💨💨 He's got a good dash of class about him and with plenty of improvement to come, we feel pretty excited about his future.
We'll be putting this c**t back through Inglis sale later in the year.
For now it's straight into the stable to begin his breaking in preparation.
