Summary of 2024: Heartbreak and resilient
This year has probably been the most challenging and heartbreaking we have had. Earlier this year we lost a couple of our special does that meant so much to us and played important roles in our breeding programs. The support we had from our friends really helped us to get through the dark days of those losses . We became resilient and learnt to push ahead and continue on with our breeding programs . To those friends we can’t thank you enough for being there for us during those dark days ❤️.
This year was probably our most successful show season we have ever had with our neths and satins both doing really well on the table . A highlight would be wining BIS , BEST fur , Best junior , Best ownerbred with our first ever bred satin NHN Nova . Winning BIS with her made me cry tears of happiness at that show with our satin being acknowledged and being told by an tassie judge that our satins have really good coats .

We have some exciting stuff lined up for next year including a couple trips to VIC and some exciting line breeding pairings for neths and satins .
2024 thanks for breaking my heart alot but teaching alot at the same time
Bring on 2025 and better times ahead

NHN Secret Weapon

A surprise kit that popped up in his litter and caught my eye. Already loving everything about this kit and so excited for him to hit the show table next year. He had definitely earned his 💍 to make the show team. Hopefully produce some lovely kits when he is old enough

What to call this special kit.

First picture is my special kit that I can tell is gonna be so promising. Special to see how similar he’s is at the same age compared to a bun I held close to my heart Redemption. This kit is almost like redemption reincarnated again with all the resemblance

Sometimes you just gotta trust the process and grow out the kits. Here are some that we are growing out currently. Can be tricky with the slow maturers as it takes a while for them to blossom but they really catch you by surprise when you pull them out once in a while

End of the show season brings a nice break from shows and working on more pairings for 2025 season. NHN attended the Canberra District Rabbit Club show yesterday with Paul judging. Lots of great laughs throughout the day, lovely to catch up with fellow breeders and get behind the judging table again (Tash). Very thrilled with our little team results. Very proud to hear my opal boy was in contention for agouti cc and my younger ones were very well liked.

What a great way to end the show season for RBA with a bang. I had the pleasure to step in last minute (5 minutes before I got to hall to open up) to judge the trainee show alongside Heather Smith. So great to see so much improvement across multiple breeds and newer exhibitors doing so good too. Therefore we only got to go under 1 show but it was great. Got great feedback on my young stock which makes me feel good knowing im going in right direction.
