Binky was unfortunately part of a litter that came into care extremely unwell, riddled with parasites and completely malnourished. She has been in care for over two months while we ensured she was getting healthy and recovering well. Fortunately she’s been doing so much better and is now more than ready for her forever home!
We aren’t 100% sure what breeds are squished into Binky’s DNA, but we are quite confident that her mother was a Siberian Husky. We have been told her father was a Mastiff x, but we aren’t entirely sure that’s the case. We believe he had some Sharpei in him also. We think Binky will grow to be a large size dog. She is currently 13kg.
Binky will fill your days with love and laughter. So much laughter. Binky is a special character and has a standout personality, she is silly, bubbly, and so affectionate. She really is paw-fect! It’s almost impossible to walk without people stopping and commenting on her, especially her ears (which are ever changing as you can see in the photos), or the fact she resembles a dingo.
Binky has always been playful, adventurous and inquisitive since being a puppy and loves to explore. With a spring in her step, she really is at her happiest outdoors in the open space. Binky will be best suited to a family who are active and enjoy being outdoors, Bush walks, beach, fields, you name it. This being said, there is nothing more Binky loves than real close contact with her favourite humans. She is the perfect rainy-day Netflix and chill partner. She loves cuddles and to be cuddled tight on the sofa or in bed. Binky simply loves to love and be loved in return. She really will be the perfect addition to your family. Binky is easily excitable and can entertain herself, whether it be chasing her tail, or doing zoomies with a toy in her mouth. She will throw the toy in the air and catch it proudly. She hops with excitement, with her tail wagging from side to side, and a smile from ear to ear. She still has her 'mad hour' and is very excitable and talkative during this.
Binky loves to sunbathe. You’ll find her sunbathing in the one spot of sun on the balcony, and will chase the sun. Binky is definitely a bit of a beach babe, she has even been stand up paddle boarding!
Binky does not take an interest in furniture; however, she does love toys, socks, sticks, bottles, treats and toilet rolls. She loves a challenge, and to work for her treats. Binky has had a very social life and loves meeting new human friends, however, Binky has had very little interaction with young children. It is worth noting that Binky does get excited and jumps/hops, therefore families who will be around young children, will need to be mindful of this.
Binky has had lots of socialisation with all types, breeds, aged, sized dogs and puppies, and has learnt to interact with all types amazingly. She loves playing chase with other dogs, especially if a stick is involved. She loves a stick.
Binky has responded well to basic training (sit, stay, lie down, paw) and recall, however, sometimes will take a little while to come back, if something more interesting is happening (usually food or another dog). It’s important the next family has time to continue to work on this training, and we believe with time and effort, Binky will be able to only improve on what she has already learnt. Binky picked up toilet training early on, she takes herself outside to the balcony, and if she is not able to do this, she will use a toilet mat (by the back door). It can take Binky a little while to understand this when in new environments, however, like most things, will pick this up quickly. Binky was walking 3 times a day and eating 3 times a day, however, has recently transitioned to 2 walks and 2 feeds a day. Binky is fantastic both on and off leash, however does love her off leash play a lot, running free with her four legged friends.
Due to the foster families working arrangements, especially during lockdown, Binky has only been left alone for short periods of time (up to 3 hours), but not very often. Therefore, Binky’s new family needs to be understanding, and be able to build on this gradually. You can guarantee when you walk in the door, Binky will be sitting waiting ready to greet you with lots of licks and cuddles.
Binky did discover her voice early on, however, only really uses it in excitement for example if she is playing or knows she is going to be walked/fed.
Overall, Binky is looking for a home, filled with love and adventures, she will be your buddy, your little shadow and will provide you with laughter and love every day. She really is a special little soul who deserves the world.
All families adopting puppies from this litter will need to be understanding and prepared to prioritise their health. Due to their not so great start to life, their immune systems are still gaining strength and their insides are needing as many nutrients as possible to ensure they grow to be healthy dogs.
Due to their breed it’ll be important that they have owners experienced with the breed or someone who has researched the breed thoroughly and understand their needs. The most obvious with these guys is their voices, they are totally your cheeky, talkative husky’s. But most importantly for the husky breed will be their training and way of life. It’ll be imperative that they have adequate training and boundaries set in place to ensure they can live the most plentiful lives.
It would be preferred for Binky to go to a home with a backyard.
