I am so heartbroken to share that I had to say goodnight to my dear Mr. Knightley on Saturday.
Over the last 2 weeks I noticed he’d lost some weight, and shed a ton fur very quickly, so I took him off to the vet. He declined so quickly, that before I got the results of his blood tests, I just knew he didn’t have long left. The results showed he had both liver cancer, and was in renal failure.
His last few days were filled with so many snuggles with his best friends Panda and Phoenix, and he let me cuddle him, his head resting in my hand as he took his last breaths.
Words can’t describe how much his divinely sweet soul has meant to me. He was always the first to make friends with new fosters, and was never spicy with them, or me (after he decided humans weren’t so bad after all).
This distinguished gentleman will be forever missed.
Thank you for letting me love you, Mr. Knightley. Rest is Peace. 😘
Thanks also to the truly compassionate vets at for coming to the house to send our boy off in the best possible comfort. 🙏
