officially introducing my newest little love - you all know I’m a sucker for a singleton, so meet Rabi. 🖤
He was tragically dumped outside a vet clinic overnight all by his lonesome, so I have no further backstory on this little dude. We’re on day six of being besties and he’s already doing so well - he came in at only 141g and absolutely starving, clearly aspirated and with severe conjunctivitis. you wouldn’t recognise him then, compared to the spirited, happy little soul he is nearly a week on. I’ve already had so much love, interest and support shown from you guys in just a few stories over these past few days, and I so appreciate that but i also want to gently remind everybody that Rabi is no more than two weeks old and not even close to pre-adoption. Like all of our kittens, he will be in the future, but in the meantime send him all of your good vibes and once he’s a lot bigger and stronger, he sure will be 🫶🏼

We’ve very graciously been provided with a stall so we can share the work we do, meet some supporters and hopefully raise some funds for this kitten season. We’ll have 9 little feline friends accompanying us tomorrow, some big and some small! 🐱 I’ll be doing some bottle feeding demonstrations throughout the day, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet and cuddle some of our upcoming adoptable kittens 🥰 it’s bound to be a great weekend, and I can’t wait to meet everybody there - so please come say hi! 💛 I’ll be hosting a chat in Cat Town on the Cat Show little stage, Sunday at 11am also and I’d love for you to join me there. i can’t believe it’s only the very beginning of kitten season and we already have nearly 20 high need kittens in care - and it’s only going to get worse from here. I’ll post updates as they come, but a case we took in last week is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Think eight kittens, utter neglect, flea infested, anaemic, riddled with worms, fungal infections, and exploding eyeballs to top it all off. 🍒 More info, photos and a fundraiser to come - these little ones need all the help they can get. 💔

We really need your help friends - Bok Choy has declined multiple times this past week and required hospitalisation and ongoing supportive care. We thought he was on the mend, but last night he entirely lost his appetite again and began to struggle breathing - he’s now in an oxygen box at the vet receiving full time care, but it’s not looking great. i hate making these posts. we lost spring onion early this morning.
despite around-the-clock supportive care, great weight gain, and improving daily, little miss crashed hard in the early hours of the morning today and was rushed to the emergency vet, where she unfortunately lost her battle by 5am. The vets believe she had an underlying/congenital issue. She thankfully went quickly and peacefully, and didn’t suffer.
From day one it’s been a pleasure to raise you Spring, you were absolute sunshine and had so much love to give. All the sleepless, caffeine fuelled long nights spent bottle feeding and tube feeding were all worth it for the love and joy you brought those who were lucky enough to love you. I know you and Lettuce are snuggling away again, like you always would. I’m so sorry I couldn’t save you both.
A huge thank you to her other parents, B & K, for showering this little one with so much love and making sure her last moments/days were happy ones. She was warm, safe, fed, and content beyond belief, and she has you guys to thank for that. This little gal knew more love in eight short weeks than most know in a lifetime.

this photo of Spring Onion is from her vaccination last week - unfortunately she’s not looking quite so bright currently. Not long after we devastatingly lost Lettuce this weekend, his sister Spring Onion began to decline - despite thriving thus far, and all of a sudden showed signs of lethargy, lacked appetite, experienced explosive diarrhoea/incontinence and experienced lameness in her hind legs. Despite our best supportive care, she was hospitalised today - a huge thank you to our wonderful vets for squeezing her in and looking after her. Thankfully, she’s now making slight improvements and is hopefully on the mend. She’ll continue to receive supportive care and ongoing fluid therapy, while we undergo further diagnostics and get to the root of the problem. As of yet we’re not sure what caused this, but what’s important is that she’s now stabilised and feeling a lot better already. This gal sure has Lettuce’s fighting spirit and I know he’s rooting for her from the rainbow bridge. Right now, the other siblings are doing just fine and showing no symptoms but we will be monitoring them closely too and they’ll be receiving another check up this week regardless.
We need your help to cover essential vet/hospitalisation bills up until this point and from here on - with Lettuce’s passing, and Spring Onion’s decline, we aren’t in a position to help more kittens right now. I just had to turn down helping five orphaned kittens which breaks my heart, but until all is okay with our current bunch and our bills are paid our doors are unfortunately closed. i lost my littlest buddy lettuce, yesterday.
this kid was such a little fighter, he really wanted to live. i’m so devastated he didn’t make it through. we spent many, long, sleepless nights together while he was fading, and he would always pull through, until yesterday. I guess his little body had been through too much and he was ready to let go; that’s how I’m trying to see it. Thank you to everyone that’s sent me so many kind messages of love & support already - this is the kind of update that I hate making, but little lettuce had such an impact and was loved by so many people close to me. I know I’ve been MIA on our socials as of late, but I’m working on getting through all of the messages I’ve received and if you’re waiting to hear back on an enquiry you will in the next couple of days. my face…. when a lonely, singleton kitten gets dropped off at a local vet clinic with ringworm 🥺😭😢
We couldn’t say no to taking this sweet gal Cleo (named by her foster carer Ari!) into care. She’s currently in strict isolation undergoing treatment for ringworm, which is definitely not the death sentence that it sometimes seems but IS highly contagious especially around young vulnerable kittens - I really hope she recovers nice and quickly so she can soon befriend our other little ones. Update photo coming shortly - they’re beyond cute! Despite their health struggles so far, my babies are doing SO well. and I’m running solely on caffeine. 🫠🤩
In the meantime, please donate if you can towards the cost of Cleo and other kitten’s care. With vet bills already piling up, and these angels going through bucket loads of formula, baby wipes and now wet food (just this week!), we could really use your help. I was fully prepared for this incoming kitten to be extra spicy and probably hate me - but it’s only day one and this sweet boy is SO grateful to have been saved, and spend his first night in a warm bed. He’s spent the past few weeks outside on his own in the cold, terrified, as a lovely lady tried her best to capture him and get him somewhere safe. Turns out today was the day and luckily she was able to trap him! He’s absolutely packed full of worms, suffering from a horrid case of flu, his p**p absolutely reeks of illness and his fur is matted in every way possible - stay tuned for the major glow up he’s about to have! Can I get some name suggestions for this little trooper? 💝

Yesterday, I received a call from @vsos_vets about three orphaned, neonatal kittens that had been brought in and were in need of rescue. Underage, not eating independently, and super sickly with awful flu, I just couldn’t say no and I had to make room for this little trio. So I thought I’d bring you along for the journey! 🌻 give a big welcome to our three newest sanctuary members 💛
Crescent, Orbit and Gamora are absolutely loving their new crib! They spent all of last night bounding around, exploring, and making a huge mess, naturally! 😂💛

what a throwback to three of my favourite bottle babies from last year - cinnamon, cocoa, and nutmeg! 🥺🥺 look how teeny tiny they were. They were each adopted into such beautiful families, and we’re lucky enough to be able to watch nutmeg grow up over at @ava.and.nutmeg 💗 we’re actually currently working on a pet portrait of darling little Cocoa! I can already tell it’s going to be stunning. I can’t wait to see my current bottle babies looking this healthy and happy 💕

This gorgeous boy has an adoption interview lined up for Saturday! 😋 what better way to celebrate than with his favourite creamy tube treats 🍤🤍 A huge thank you to everybody that has applied for Sushi - he was certainly very popular! I’ve spent today reading through over 100 lovely applications 😳 unfortunately we only have one Sushi! We’ll post updates here as soon as anything is certain with his adoption. Please remember that we’re getting closer to kitten season everyday, and we’ll have so many little kittens in need of loving homes - we’ll need your support then more than ever! 💜
now for some brighter news… this muffin came in the night before last, dehydrated, aspirated and super sad - he’s perked up a lot now and went NUTS for his bottle on intake, so I can only guess how long he was alone for! He was left behind when mum moved the babies, and after nearly a whole day of waiting for her to come back, the finder intervened and brought him to us. 💛 you’re safe now little one!
