1. Health Benefits: Desexing reduces the risk of certain types of cancers, including testicular, ovarian, and mammary cancers.
2. Population Control: It prevents unwanted litters, helping to reduce the number of homeless pets.
3. Behavioral Benefits: Desexed pets often exhibit reduced roaming tendencies, aggression, and other problematic behaviors such as urine spraying in cats.

Matilda’s journey 🐱
Matilda’s owners noticed overtime that she couldn’t jump as much anymore and was hesitant for them to pat her. With tests run overtime and nothing conclusive, Solenisa injections were recently started.
After 2 injections Matilda’s owners have already seen a major improvement and she is actively jumping and playing again! 🩼
Solensia is a once a month injection for the use in cats which controls osteoarthritis pain. Although there is no cure, the pain can effectively be managed. 🦴
Here is a video of Matilda today getting back to her inner child! 😻

Dakota ❤️
Our girl Dakota came to visit two of her favourite nurses Jess J and Loz last week for her 3 monthly PCV (pack cell volume) check. 💉
Dakota suffers from a disease called IMHA (immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia) an autoimmune disease in dogs in which the body attacks its own red blood cells. This can lead to very low red blood cell counts (anemia) that require multiple blood transfusions.🩸
The girls love their visits from Dakota who pulls out all the tricks and for being such a brave girl gets spoilt with a pigs ear treat! 🐶
Winter ❄️ is coming and this means one thing, arthritis symptoms start to show in our canine friends.
Osteoarthritis in our pets can be caused by many conditions and circumstances. Just like humans, osteoarthritis is most commonly associated with ageing and stress put on joints but can be seen with breed specific conditions where the elbows and or hips are most commonly affected or there are joint related injuries or repeated trauma to the joints.
Common symptoms include:
🦴Pain, stiffness or difficulty when getting up or down;
🦴Reluctance to climb stairs;
🦴 “Laziness” on walks may be due to arthritic pain.
We are fortunate to have many different methods in which we can address pets’ osteoarthritic pain.
