Caring for a senior pet marks a significant stage in every pet parent’s journey. As our furry companions grow older, they change, and their needs evolve too.
🥣 Food & Water: Monitor their eating and drinking and mention any changes to eating habits or weight to our vets as there could be an underlying issue.
🐕 Exercise: Give them regular, gentle exercise and go at your pet’s pace.
😴 Sleeping: Aging cats tend to sleep more. Provide cosy bedding in warm, in a quiet draft-free spot and monitor any changes in sleeping patterns.
🩺 Regular Check-ups: Health exams, including dental checks, are particularly important for senior pets as they are more prone to illness and ailments (every six months is ideal).
If you have any concerns about your senior dog, please book your pet in for an appointment. Our vets can provide advice and treatments to help your dog enjoy their twilight years with comfort and joy. 🐾
