Over the last few months I've been giving Husbandry Wizard a red hot go and putting it through its paces, after being given early access. Long review short, I think it's great and it is definitely helping me manage my collection on a totally different level. Having all my feeding and breeding records in the palm of my hand is such a game changer for me. I think the biggest benefit I've experienced is that I feel like I'm so much more organised and on top of things because of it.
I strongly encourage everyone to jump on and sign up, and discover the benefits and advantages of husbandry Wizard for yourselves. First month is free and then there is a whole range of subscription options. Not to mention apps for Android and iOS coming very soon.

True blue Cooktown blonde macs: In 1999 I Acquired my first Python, a little hatchy blonde spotted python from Shane Skarf. Shane originally got his animals from Bob Withey. Those who have been in the hobby long enough know that Bob's line are the original blonde macs. Bob collected the original animals himself from Cooktown in the early 80s. Over the years many have kept this line and many real blondes in the hobby descend from or have been mixed with this line. I kept this line for many years, but in 2016 I sold up many of my animals and my blondes too. This line has the potential to produce exceptional animals and are not as commonly seen in the hobby these days as they once were, probably due to all of the great morphs hitting the market. I was very pleased to acquire a pair from amongst some of the last blondes Bob will produce at the recent Sydney reptile show. I look forward to working with this line again in the future and keeping an absolute classic line pure. These are some of the best animals I've produced from this line in previous years...

Continuing on from my last albino post... This was a hold back male from the first albino spotted pythons I hatched at the end of 2015. He himself is a bit of a veteran now and is the grandfather of the worlds first Marbinos (albino marbles) produced by Kurt Livesley at Progressive Pythons Australia.

These pics popped up as memories this morning. Can't believe these were taken in the 2015 season, feels like a life time ago. Male albino mac was a busy boy that year! Laid the foundation for some awesome projects which are finally coming to fruition these last couple of seasons in the hands of various keepers. Many would know, and just as many denied and attacked me and a few others at the time for being open about it, that the albino macs were very weak in the early days. Many came out kinked, sunken chest cavities etc. The original albino in fact had a kink. It's taken years of hard work and outcrossing to strengthen many of the albino macs in the hobby today, an endeavour that only few truly pursued to the extent that was required. This is likely why after about 14 years in the hobby the albino macs are still in relatively low numbers compared to other morphs such as marbles, and why most people producing them are still more often than not pairing albino x het, or het x het, rather than albino x albino.
I'm very lucky to have just added some more very out crossed pure albinos to my little 'ants nest' and look forward to incorporating them into the breeding plans over the next few years. Will post pics of the new additions later.
This is my original 2013 male produced by Snake Ranch with some of his girls in 2015.

Rewind a few years, this is was a pairing I did back in 2016. This is the pair my current Tarbles descend from. Arguable the most beautiful T+ childreni I've owned.

All pure childreni. Don't see many of the mini olives around these days.

Love these pictures. Taken in 2015, there's a lot of history and heritage in this tub!

- The Granite Mac was one of the first sold in the country and used to kick start the production of many of the Super Platinum Granites in the market today
- The T+ Albino Ghost childreni was used to create many of the early double het Tarbles
- The albino mac was one of the first animals produced and sold by snake ranch and has produced many hets and albinos since 2015
- The marble sired the first Blizzards marbles.

G'day and welcome back. My name is Jason Patterson, a passionate reptile enthusiast and keeper in Sydney Australia.
I started keeping Antaresia pythons way back in 2000 and I started the original Designer Ants page in early 2015. After a change of direction and circumstances I have since merged that page with my Aussie Arboreals page, with a focus on multi generation captive bred Australian Green Tree Pythons.
I'm finally relaunching a page to display and showcase my Ants and my passion for all things Antaresia.
