As we return to work after the holidays, the change in routine can cause anxiety for our pets, especially since they’ve become used to having us around more!

💥Here are a few signs pets may show if they’re feeling stressed or anxious:

🐶🐱Excessive barking/meowing, or other vocalisation
🐶🐱Destructive behaviours like chewing, scratching, or tearing up furniture
🐶🐱Urinating or defecating indoors even though they are house-trained
🐶🐱Pacing, restlessness, or panting in dogs/hiding or clinginess in cats.
🐶🐱Changes in appetite or sleep patterns.

💥How to help ease their anxiety:

🫶Create a routine to give them a sense of predictability
🫶Offer mental and physical stimulation with interactive toys or puzzle feeders/scratching posts to help burn off energy and reduce boredom
🫶Leave the TV or radio on so they feel like there are people around
