But within each breed, within each litter, there will be differences in DRIVE
WHAT IS DRIVE ?
"High-drive dogs tend to be more energetic, needing frequent physical and mental stimulation, while low-drive dogs are typically more relaxed and content with moderate activity."

Most pet owners want low-drive dogs, especially at home. Most dogs that come to see me with unwanted behaviours have higher drive than they were anticipating and some come because the household they live in, is full of HIGH-drive humans.

High Drive dogs need you as their guardians and coaches to be skilled. They are looking for clarity, variety and, extensions to their skills. If you think you have a high-drive dog .... do yourself and favour and get into training classes or enrol in some one-on-ones .

Muster Dogs will have everyone considering getting a dog and possibly a working line dog . Please remember that most of our parks in the city where dogs are allowed off lead are smaller than a farmers field. That green space in the city has to be shared not just with dogs but people and sports .
All too often these working breeds turn to herding kids , herding dogs ,chasing birds , joggers , scooters bicycles and Cars !!!!
Yes you can achieve a calm dog but it takes training
The dogs in the series are trained and worked everyday and it does not stop for several years!
If you don’t want to spend nights in ,weekends with the dog ,don’t have the desire to take on train advice , don’t have the determination to keep going when it gets tough ….please don’t get a dog but especially a working breed for their sake x

All those who like to walk their dogs on Mosman foreshores please keep an eye out
If your dog is a scavenger please keep them on lead until you have done one lap of these areas

Attention Sydneysiders - SASH Northern Beaches treated two dogs last week with suspected rat bait poisoning. Both dogs had recently been walking around the Mosman Rowing Club and the adjacent park. This has been reported to council.

Please ensure you keep an eye on your dog when out walking to safeguard them from ingesting something they shouldn't, and never leave dogs unattended in off-leash parks.

Rat bait poisoning symptoms can include vomiting and diarrhoea , lethargy, bleeding (of the gums or nose, or blood within their stools / urine) seizures and difficulty breathing.

If you suspect your dog has ingested poison, please take them to your closest SASH emergency immediately.

There is nothing worse than turning up to a meeting or a Gym session and the session has not been planned. Dogs are no different. If they suspect that you are not on top of what you are training, they will muck up, lose interest or head off.
