There’s been a bit of silence around here…
Peggy’s bills have been astronomical. The way in which she entered was utterly… it’s without words. Thousands have been spent on a dog that was not only discarded but where a company who was supporting the individual turned a blind eye, lied, fabricated one great story and left us both knowing the situation in full.
Yes, we went to court. But how could someone, or rather two people start a business ‘supporting those with special needs’ do these things? It’s easy, that’s how. Money > welfare of all involved. Offensive to suggest otherwise? No. The truth was there in full and everyone looked the other direction and instead spent their time creating fantastic ‘stories’ of so many other ridiculous untruths.
I need help supporting Peggy in care - as well as Mistletoe the no-longer-kitten who arrived after Christmas last year with a degloving injury to her lower lip. She has pet insurance just to let me sleep a little easier at night, costing just under $20 a fortnight. Peggy is too old for pet insurance and her bills are piling up. Monthly injections for her skin, lotions and baths on-top of her arthritis injection course which was just completed and cost $266.96 in total. Another round of a box of flea treatment was just under $90 and I don’t even want to mention her food costs 😞
Currently not working and everything goes to them whilst working on trying to get things together after a hellish half a year fighting the above people. Whilst I can go ahead and keep trying I’ve decided for my own health and well-being to not. This is perhaps one of the hardest choices I’ve made as seeing the injustices that I witnessed will no longer be in the public eye. Or, perhaps there is someone out there who will listen and post the story in full to ensure that this doesn’t ever happen again.
If you know anyone who is involved in media or something of the likes and wants a good story with
February 21st; this little girl had her freedom ride. Straight to the vet where she had skin scrapings, ear cytology and a cardiac ultrasound followed by injections and a course of antibiotics being treated for fleas that were crawling all over before we even left. Toothpick legs and red raw skin. Shaved her fur, daily washes and twice daily conditioners plus an assortment of ointments and non-stop ear medication for some nasty ears. She finally became healthy enough to receive her first vaccination - bringing me a heck of a lot of comfort.
Fast-forward to today and check out that muscle! She can run up hills that she couldn’t even walk up before. She can jump into the car, onto the bed and right onto your lap in one leap. Her legs are chunky, her fur is growing in - and it’s white instead of yellow. The smell? Gone. No more pus coming from her ears, no red raw feet that were so itchy to cause her to bite and self inflict some nasty puncture wounds. That belly, that belly that is now full of food and not worms. Skin that has baby hair slowly growing in. A coat that’s nearly caught up to its actual length after being shaved more than once.
No fleas. No itching. A dog who gives a little leap when you go to pick her up. A dog who loves to cuddle instead of one who cowers in fear with fast movements. A dog who might only have a bath after rolling in mud! A dog who gets so excited when she sees her collar and lead that you almost can’t get it on her in time. A dog whose tail wags almost non stop, despite the trauma she’s been through. A dog who doesn’t care about her regular ear (preventative) medicine and just keeps lapping up the love.
No more sleeping with one eye open and now, instead, she now spreads out like she doesn’t have a care in the world.
This girl has rocked it and has been so resilient and adaptable! Check out her progress in just over three months 👏
These two are inseparable… and then there’s little Peggy, confused as to what she is 🐶 🐱 or a 🍌 ?
If this had a title it would have to be ‘Stuck’
Another day in the life of this little thing. Still unsure as to what exactly she is but cat toys are her new favorite thing! Pre-breakfast play!
This girl is so, so, so happy and seeing the change from a couple of months ago until now? It’s amazing 😻
Chomp chomp chomp
Resident doggo Alice and foster pupper Peggy enjoying a veggie ‘ear’ in front of the heater tonight! Peggy is decked out in her new outfit that we found in the clearance section of Petbarn so thankfully, she’s warm for another night;)
Peggys vet bills are out of this world 💫
We have another appointment for a recheck on Tuesday and need to purchase her very specific vet diet food that costs a small fortune.
If you’d like to help towards supporting Peggy whilst she’s in care please get in touch. 🙏
Sally is still waiting for that forever home ❤️
Maybe one with a playful puppy?!
Hoppity-hop-hop from a little walk with this little miss!
🆘 SOS 🆘
SEEKING EMERGENCY FOSTER CARERS:
1x fully vetted female kitten ready to go
1x female kitten awaiting surgery
1x female desexed adult, awaiting further surgery.
+1x female desexed elderly dog, on medication - currently out and safe but need to focus on getting all these others sorted and one less will make me sleep better at night!
ALL good with other cats and dogs.
Recent break ins (caught in camera ;) ) alongside windows being opened with screens taken off mean that these guys need OUT NOW to keep them safe. Security cameras watching 2/4 round the clock, 2 temporary boarding.
Will arrange vetwork ASAP once eyes not glued to camera 24/7. These cats must possess super cat-strength to get this and a screen open (fully intact!) if this window were closed as it has been to date!!! Lucky for cameras, right?!
5am wake up play from Sally and Mistletoe who are now best friends! As we have carpet in the bedroom and I still don’t trust them to own the house all night it’s every other night on the couch! Once the bathroom floors are dry they’ll get their breakfast and that door will shut because Miss Marcie is setting a very bad example showing the younger girls that outside is an option if you run fast enough to the open door.
Oh well, not my fault she’s now in a collar when in the house so that I can hear her running for the door!!!
