We have finally done it and won the Kempsey Cup. Plus to do it with a local girl Siena Grima
We couldn’t be more proud.
What can we say about the horse and the rider.
Xtra Approval gave us our first city winner. Has been sacked a hundred times nearly got sold and now live in his old box with the goats.
Siena came out laughing and joking about how this race would be run. It didn’t matter it was a 20/10 ride.
To Kempsey jockey club thank you for a great day it was an amazing crowd and a great Calcutta Thursday night.
To all my staff thank you for all your efforts a special one goes to Lea L Boyd. Thank you for the last two weeks you have been the backbone of the stable. I know we got this one wrong but we will make up for it don’t worry.

🚨🏇🥈 Better Explain 🥈🏇🚨
Siena Grima and Better explain show that the last start win together was not just a one off.
Last start Better explain went to Newcastle and did nothing but he must have known Siena was back in the saddle.
This was a great ride and just to be caught right on the line.
Can’t wait to see where better explain goes to next but we know Siena will be getting the call up first.

After a long week we can finally sit down and reflect on what we have done.
On Wednesday we headed to Grafton with 4 runners it was a tough day but the one of the old stable stars. Time for Victory stood up and ran a solid 🥉. This was a great return to form after a poor run last start.

After a long 732 days without a win. Matthew McGuren needs an Order Of Australia for getting Xtra Approval over the line at Port Macquarie on Sunday.
This old war horse has come back in great order after a 5 week break. Finish top 3 his last two starts and then getting to 1500m he jumped well and travelled super the whole trip.
To both riders Lea L Boyd and Kellie Jade thank you for all the hard work you have put in with Xtra Approval.

2024 Bakewell Haulage Krambach Cup winner
Better Explain with young apprentice Siena Grima aboard.
What can we say about this ride. 2nd last at the 600m a wall of horses in front and Siena comes wide and sets out after the leaders.
10/10 ride from a young lady coming through the riding ranks. This horse won so well at Muswellbrook two starts back and last start nothing went to plan with a fall in the race but today he showed us what he can really do and was in for the fight over the last 100m.
Congratulation also to his strapper Macy Carter
on strapping your first ever winner in only your second time doing it.

🚨🏇🍾🥳🥇 Debussy 🥇🥳🍾🏇🚨
Debussy made a stunning return to the track on Friday. Winning the Kia Lighting 1000m with Blake Spriggs aboard.
After having a fight with the Walker and coming off second best. Debussy just had a little break in the paddock and looks to have come back in great form.
This was a stunning 10/10 ride from Blake. It’s great to do the last to first in a 1000m race.
A massive thank you goes to his rider Kellie Jade
Who has to put up with him every morning.

🚨🍾🥇🥈 2024 Port Sprint 🥈🥇🍾🚨
Finally the Port Cup day returned to its home after the track renovation. Port track has been great to the stable over the years and to return and go 1-2 in the 2024 Port sprint with two stable superstars and two stable jockeys.
🥇 The Face ridden by Aaron Bullock. This was 10/10 ride for the way the track was racing on the day. To all owners congratulations and Thank you for your support.
🥈 Time for Victory ridden by Reece Jones. This was another 10/10 ride. Having the track bias against you. You had all faith in the old war horse that he could pick them up. He did pick everything else up just run into one better. To all the owners congratulations and let’s see what happens next week.

After is Bowraville behaviour in the barriers. This time Xtra Approval decided to behaviour himself and just runs into a smart one. Kempsey has been a great track for the stable and for Leanne.

Time for Victory returned to the races carrying 64.5kg over the 1000m. He was guided by his great mate Aaron Bullock. This was a prefect lead up run for his next two races that are in his prep.

Stable newcomer He’s a copy boy had his first start for the stable at Manning Valley Race Club. He looks like he has fitted in well. We had some expectations but once Raceday comes anything can happen.
