🐾 Understanding Your Dog’s Needs 🐾

Dogs are incredible communicators—they just have their own way of speaking. Every behaviour they show, whether it’s barking at the postie or lounging in the sun, is tied to an emotion. By learning to understand the why behind your dog’s actions, you can create a stronger, more trusting bond with them. 💕

When we see behaviour as communication, it opens the door to deeper understanding and empathy. Instead of frustration, we can approach challenges with curiosity and compassion. And when our dogs feel heard and supported? That’s when the magic happens. ✨

For example, my dog Kenya has a special way of telling me when she’s feeling overwhelmed—she’ll quietly puts herself into her crate. That’s my cue to make sure she gets some quiet time to decompress. 🐶💤

Wind (especially extreme wind) is unsettling for most dogs and bucket filling for all dogs 🐕 Be mindful of your dogs stress bucket - give them a safe, quiet place to rest - a covered crate is perfect if they are crate trained - pop on some music, provide calming activities like lickimats or kongs and you can probably give the walk a miss too! If your dog is going stir crazy, play some brain draining indoor games instead like scent games or start working on teaching them that new trick 😎 Take care everyone and stay safe!
