I can’t keep the news in much longer!

Narran Park is absolutely delighted to announce that our matriarch mare Indy ‘DY Miss Roxy’ has returned a positive pregnancy scan to the Legendary, 3 Million Dollar Sire Spooks Gotta Gun!

I am beside myself with amazement and I can’t thank our wonderful Central West Equine vets enough for getting the job done. Well done to all.

A huge thank you to Di at Xtreme Genes for being incredibly prompt and organising everything without a hitch.

Thank you to all who supported me through this journey and a special thanks to my husband, without his hard work and encouragement, this only would have been possible through my dreams. I am feeling incredibly lucky and grateful today.

Guess who’s had a growth spurt?

We bought Polly in April this year as a weanling.
Now she is nearly taller than my 2 year old.

All Oopsie No Daisy is growing well through her gangly stage.

❗️For those here who enquired about our Nana. Indiana Snowstorm, Thank you.
I received hundreds of enquiries and I truly just haven’t had the time to reply to everyone.

After consulting our vet, we have decided to continue with her and will try live cover as opposed to AI and see how we go from there.

It wouldn’t be the same without our Nana mare here.

Welcome to Narran Park!

With the recent rains bringing our landscape to life, I thought I’d take a moment to showcase our piece of paradise with you!

We are nestled in the foothills of the Harvey ranges in Central West NSW. We are blessed with very dramatic views over the valley and our paddocks. Our horses are mainly kept in a herd environment and most of our critters are fully free ranging when they can.

We have some elegant natives, full dams and dramatic views of the nearby national park, and this is just the front section of our property.

The back half is complete opposite, giant, dramatic boulders, wild native scrub and a myriad of interesting secrets to uncover! Every day is an adventure here and we love where we live.

What a weekend we have had!

Yesterday we retrieved Slider from our Vets at Orange. Last weekend he decided to give us a scare. Exams found an over inflated basketball sized bladder…vet found no actual cause, scans, bloods and scope all returned normal. We are glad he is home.

Today we said goodbye to Willie and Indy. At least temporarily, anyway. Indy has gone to our vets for breeding. Please send positive vibes as this cross will be absolutely incredible if it all goes to plan!

Tomorrow we find out if Nana has taken for her 2nd try for breeding. Fingers crossed here, although I’m starting to believe that the vets just want to keep her to themselves. The nurses all tell me she is their favourite and is such a good girl. Nana is a national treasure and we just adore her.
I’ll be really excited if she goes in foal.

It’s been quite a revolving door here lately.

Seeing as slider apparently needed some extra attention, we set out on an impromptu ride today with what’s left of my herd.
They all really enjoyed getting out and were very well behaved.
Slider taking it all in his stride as usual with just a halter. He is worth his weight in gold. He is my heart horse.

I can’t help but pinch myself every day, I am so incredibly lucky to have such a beautiful little herd.

I have been a little Slack with updates here!

But Introducing our newest Member “Willie”.
Willie got his name from the Willie Wagtail that hung out with his mother for the entirety of her pregnancy(can you spot it?).

Willie was Born on Melbourne Cup day and is doing everything right so far.
He is full of energy and has such a proud stance.

On todays episode of Hoarders….we welcome another new horse!

Never thought I would own one, but I now have a super sweet TB mare in my herd.
Registered name: Miss Euro.

She’s 7, Never raced, she is a gentle giant and the biggest sook.

What is she doing here? 🤷🏻‍♀️
At this stage she will just be a project to work on while I wait for my other girls to be ready to start.
I will most likely give her some work and sell her on. She has a very lovely disposition and will be a very quiet mare. I’m excited to work with her!

Also, some other random photos of the brat pack.

Our beautiful Nana has been dropped off to her Tinder date!

A quick scan reveals she is on track, healthy and hopefully ready to breed next week!

In typical Nana style, she took everything in her stride and made me proud.
Fingers crossed!

We are home from the infamous Tottenham Horse Sports & Gymkhana!
What an amazing turnout this year! 150 riders with 65 Horses in the adult riders! And talk about stiff competition, some really incredible riders amongst them.

We took my old Gelding Slider. Many years ago, this event was his very first event as a 2 year old. He has competed here many times and one year even brought us home high point adult of the whole day! He is a familiar face at Tottenham, as am I, being one of the last babies born there!

This year I didn’t have any expectations as we both aren’t in work and he was just pulled from the paddock and thrown in the float. He outdid himself with a first in the bending(his favourite event) And 3rd in the Flags(my least favourite). Wow! What an achievement! Especially out of 65 young, fit horses and riders!

Slider will always be my greatest achievement and best friend. I’ve owned him since he was 8 months and have done all the work myself. We have a long list of incredible achievements, but none as great as the bond we share.

In typical Slider fashion, he enjoyed a nice roll before his photo was taken. His favourite thing in the world is to be the dirtiest horses in my paddock.

A few weeks ago I took our lovely yearlings out to their first clinic.
The clinic was an obstical clinic and they did such a beautiful job.

A lot of time had already been taken with desensitising these girls and while I absolutely never had any expectations, I was hoping our training was retained somewhat….

With special thanks to by incredibly helpful and supportive husband, catching them both for me while I was rugging up, they were pulled from their paddock and off we went.

And didn’t they do such an amazing job for their first time out, amongst other horses and new things. Both girls took it all in their stride and nailed everything, both willingly and confidently. I was soo proud, I may have shed a small tear 😅

My niece joined me at the end of the clinic and took both girls around. They were very well behaved for her and took care of her.

Both loaded and unloaded like a dream with just myself.

It’s small things like these that make everything worth it. We didn’t win money, we didn’t win a ribbon. But I had their trust and willingness and that is the best feeling anyone could ask for.
