Good morning! Time for our regular (not) 3am update.
88ml of rain since yesterday morning. Frogs are loving it. Insects are loving it. Me, less so.
The road is flooded between here and the pub. Not sure on the road from Bendigo. This will all pass within 12 hours. Let's re-evaluate as the day progresses. There's more rain due - just not as much.
Update time! Yes it's wet.
I've been able to get the dogs out during a break in the weather today and they are all inside now watching the news.
So far today we've received 48ml of rain with a tad more expected overnight.
A dose of reality.
I've sent a note off to the insurer. Not sure if I'll be covered. The problem is that it will take months to get a fencer in
Ok, now let's just see what's going on in the dam paddock.
Update: all dogs got a decent exercise session. Nobody was panicked. I just got it done. Most of the work going forward will be about fixing the damage to the fences in the paddocks.
Just gotta learn how to use the tractor. What could possibly go wrong?
This is Marshall. Marshall always has to be on lead when he's not in a yard because he likes to run at full speed between your legs. Which he thinks is hilarious. Me less so.
Oh gawd. Someone contact a manager!
You know there are very funny vids I take that never make it here because there's a high likelihood they will go viral for all the wrong reasons. Eg: my friend Ruth who completely failed as a kennel hand and I'm still laughing. And yes I have it on vid.
Anyhoo, I'm not going to mention which lab belted my knees from behind and took me completely out, but Jo Harvie you owe me at least 2 bottles of pinot grigio for that reckless blonde bombshell who shall remain nameless.
It did start out as a funny vid about Cesar.
Happy New Year!
Remember I'm closed today (although could probably be bribed with MULTIPLE bottles of Pinot Grigio. Multiple. )
There's so much I could say about black labs right now
And the Portuguese Water Dogs hit the dam
Good morning groovers,
Well it's an absolute perfect morning out here today. I've got the hearing protection on as per usual.
Dogs are having a super morning and I'm just about to start on the cattery and spread the love in there.
Hope all is well with you,
Jane
Whew thought I'd post how things were just before lunch.
How did you enjoy Santa's birthday?
All good here. Hopefully just one more update left for me today.
8am update!
About 46 ml of rain in the last 14 hours.
Whew. Happy Christmas! What a night.
Huge thunderstorms have come through causing some anxiety to dogs. I have liaised with those owners.
Then there was quiet for a couple of hours and now pouring again with some mild thunderstorms.
I've grabbed a cup of coffee (thanks for the beans!) And have checked dogs.
Today will be a big day of managing thru the weather etc.
Hope you're all safe.
Ho ho ho,
Jane
Oh Portuguese Water Dog people..... you remind me of black lab people. So many nameless dogs. So many.
You may or may not get the right dog back!
It's been one of those mornings.
Let's just say it's moist with 70mls of rain in the last 24 hours.
All cats and dogs are safe and well and the Labradors and PWDs are super liking the wet adventures right now
I thought if I got the whippets together they'd have a lot of fun playing.
Nah.... all they did was sniff!
