Just like people, horses have good days and bad days. They can be influenced by their environment, training, and relationships. It's so important to understand and respect these differences, rather than expecting them to conform to our expectations.

Whether you are wanting a solid foundation put on your horse, having specific behavioural issues or just wanting more advanced buttons to go on with - just PM me. All horses are given top care and attention and treated like my own. They are also given PEMF rug treatments whilst in training to keep them feeling their best.

With over 3 decades of extensive experience in various disciplines including competing successfully in Barrel Racing and Rodeos to Dressage and Hacking to Western Pleasure and Off The Track horses. My aim is to create soft, willing and happy horses with foundations that enable them to go on to any discipline.

It’s hard as a trainer not to get caught up in progression when horses are only here for a month. Push, push, push to get the most out of them.

Especially when starting a horse we can get caught up in them being able to do a certain amount in a months time.

Here’s a secret though, the best trainers won’t push your horse to do the “most” in a month, instead they will build your horses confidence, teach them the steps they need, and also give them the mental breaks they need.

If a horse gets something perfect when I’m working with them it’s not uncommon for me to step off and put them away right there. I recently had a horse that could NOT get his right lead, instead of trying over and over again I worked on fundamentals every day and didn’t even ask for him to lope. One day I asked for his lope to the right and he got it right away. This was only about 10 mins into our ride and I STEPPED OFF and put him away. The next ride was amazing he got his lead every time I asked.

The benefit to training this way is that you are building a mentally sounder horse. It’s really just the cliche saying “live in the present” don’t be concerned about what you need to accomplish in a certain amount of time, instead stay in the present training session. Focus on what your working on for the day and you might accomplish even more then you imagined. Pc

Whilst we regret that all riding lessons have had to be cancelled due to nearly 200mm in 3 days, we are excited to announce that we have now added an aqua round yard to our facility!!! This ensures that all horses are kept fit despite the prevailing rain! ☔️☔️☔️

We have also opened up lessons for those interested in duck training and swimming lessons. 🦆🦆🦆

Absolutely love my tbreds! 💞 they are such beautiful creatures. My second favourite breed of all time 💞

🦸‍♀️Why do thoroughbreds make us better people?🦸‍♂️

The sensitivity of a thoroughbred, is what I find, to be the ‘aspect/part’ that people struggle with. When it comes to; management, riding, care. We never seem to know why some days they need ALL the rugs and other days they’re too hot. One day, happily lead around by a 5 year old child, but the next can’t even keep one hoof on the floor as the floor is lava 🔥 One minute they’re round and fat, in the next second, we swear we can see ribs. 😩😩😩

Those moments of; them being jumpy, spooky, silly, appearing to ‘over react’ to the smallest of situations, to be scared by that leaf, but would walk past a tractor and a trailer with an inflatable dinosaur in it makes absolutely zero sense to us, but full sense to them

But what we don’t realise is that their sensitivity is their SUPERPOWER. 🦸‍♀️ 🦸‍♂️ 🦸‍♂️

They have the ability to read us, to pick upon our emotions, to be aware of situations and adjust themselves accordingly. They make us become a better version of ourselves. They teach us to become;
🦸‍♀️More level in our emotions
🦸‍♂️To understand and read them
🦸‍♀️ To not ‘sweat the small stuff’ but to take a breath, evaluate and find a way through
🦸‍♂️ They make us appreciate the smallest of wins and how to be humble and learn in the not so great times
🦸‍♀️ They make us more aware of how we, as people, address and approach a situation and how we could actually do this better and learn to read and take the time to understand others
🦸‍♂️ They do teach us to face hard stuff and find multiple ways through
🦸‍♀️ They teach us resilience, but also patience and empathy
🦸‍♂️ They teach us, that no matter how bad we think a situation is, there is always a way forward
🦸‍♀️ They teach us balance

I have learnt, and am learning a lot about myself through working with thoroughbreds, it’s their superpower that has helped me be better ❤️❤️❤️

International Derby - Suncorp Games - Cairns - can’t remember the year! 🫣

The International Derby was where we all rode a dressage test (can’t remember the level but I think it was Elementary?). The top 8 competitors went into a second round. For the second round all riders names went into a hat and you drew out one of the other top 8 horses. You then had 20 minutes to quickly get to know your new mount before competing in another dressage test.

I was lucky enough to draw Jenny Haines’ Aapostle and ended up riding him in to 3rd place. The event was won by an international rider from PNG on Jenny Haines’ other mount Outback Image. My own horse Renaissance was very tactfully ridden by the amazing Christine Dale into 4th place.

Little Bid O’Bling. Q-68710

Approx 15.2hh rising 15yo Q/H gelding. Bling needs absolutely no introduction to those in the barrel world here in Nth Qld. He has been an amazing Jnr barrel horse for my daughter taking her to many wins including the 2023 Nth Qld ATRA 13-17yo barrel racing champion. He is the sweetest guy you will ever meet! He loves to be loved!! He is a free running horse so would suit a quiet and competent rider. He would NOT suit an aggressive rider.

This is the hardest sale ever and I have tears as I write this. Not a horse I thought would ever leave us but his young owner is off discovering a life outside of horses and he really needs someone to give him the love and attention he deserves.

🌸 Riverina Demand 🌸

River is a lovely 2016 t’bred mare standing just over 16.2hh. Solid in her flat work she is ready for someone to take in any direction. Her paces are amazing to ride and she has a canter to die for. Would make a great rider class horse and hunter hack. She is a kind mare who wants to please. Would suit a quiet, soft rider. She is a big, powerful and sensitive mare and would require a confident intermediate rider up due to her size.

🌻 Zapluck 🌻

Zippy is a 2016 t’bred gelding standing at 15.3hh. This guy is the biggest character and will always bring a smile to your face. He will follow you around his paddock like a puppy dog and just wants to be your best friend. Last raced in Oct 23 and has had a good let down period before being brought into work. No dirt or nastiness at all, he is literally the coolest dude 😎 Has lovely ground covering trot. Would make a very nice small hack. Has been ridden by my competent 16yo with no hassles. I could see him being a teenage girl’s best friend who wants to do everything. Would suit an intermediate rider up due to his greenness.

🌺 Both these two are such beautiful horses. Unfortunately they are at the bottom of the line when it comes to being worked with outside horses and then my comp horses taking first priority and there just isn’t enough hours in the day!! I believe these two are very special and have a lot of potential hence why I have kept them for myself. They both thrive on attention and for that reason I have made the hard decision that they deserve to be someone’s number one horse.

Please realise these are off the track horses and they do need riders who genuinely know what they’re doing and are not scared or timid riders! They are not free but priced very reasonably.
