A bit of a different (and long!) post from us today! Running a Pet Supplies, I want to share something that happened to us the other day.
On Christmas Eve, Remi had a major allergic reaction to something. We aren’t sure what it is was, we assume some sort of ant or bug bit her.
You can see from the slides, it didn’t take long before the hives got worse. Being a Saturday & Christmas Eve, most of the Vets in our area had closed until after Christmas. Luckily there was an emergency vet nearby who could treat Remi straight away.
But all of this had us thinking, do we know what to do should we have another pet emergency? What if we had of been somewhere remote, or camping?
This Holiday Season, please make sure you know where the closest vet is to you, where the nearest emergency vet is, read up on what to do in pet emergencies, and discuss with you vet what you should have on hand should an emergency arise.
We’ll be making sure to carry medication for Remi should she have another allergic reaction. We also have the first aid kit for non-emergency first aid incidents.
If you are concerned about allergic reactions, please discuss this with your vet!
