Furry Friends Fitness I'm Sue - a dog lover with lots of experience as an owner. I'd love to provide activity and enrichment sessions for your dog if you are unable to.

I have formal studies under my belt too - Dog Care and Training Essentials - endorsed by the RSPCA (Qld). I will also work with dogs located in South, North, and Boambee Valley, but a small "taxi" fee applies because of the additional time and vehicle costs. Dogs are collected and taken to an approved area such as a beach, park, or reserve. I play with the dogs, ensure they are exercised, and use

consistent dog handling measures to guarantee they have fun without causing any problems with each other or for folk/other dogs nearby. After the designated time is completed, I drive the dogs back home. If we have been to the beach, I ensure the dogs receive a good towelling off. Travel time is NOT included in the session time. One hour or half an hour means that length of time for activity with your pooch, with travel time to and from, on either side. What I don't do:
* Train your dog for you
* Pet sit
* Wash or groom dogs

Prices range from $22 up to $45

Seniors and pensioners receive a 10% discount, as do multiple dogs from the same household. Book several walks in advance and receive 10% off (a 4 walk package as a minimum - could be twice a week, once a week, you decide what works for you).

Please folks, use your flea and tick prevention meds! I helped a client collect her new rescue dog over the weekend. Between the vet, the owner, and me, we found two fully engorged paralysis ticks and the wound "craters" left by several more who'd had their fill and dropped off. The person who surrendered the dog hadn't bothered with the meds, and clearly also not with regular checks! We are all keeping our fingers crossed now that he doesn't succumb. Lucky for him, he's a larger breed of dog and may just escape requiring anti-venine...

Today may have been a holiday for some, but for me, it was walking two dogs this morning, home for lunch, then off to two different homes for pet minding. Oddly, it doesn't feel like work when I get to mingle with animals! :)

I got a Christmas present from a very very shy cat I'm minding for a few weeks. She normally hides and if I'm lucky, I might see her ears, or her tail. It's nearly Christmas! While some people will be having time off, I certainly won't be. One three week booking and one 9 day booking for pet minding, not to mention the regular dog walking (they don't know it's Christmas!)

Unfortunately, I don't have any more slots available for pet minding or dog walking until 2024.

It's school holidays where I live. This impacts on where I can walk the dogs (car parking is at a premium, and I also need safe access/egress for pooches). But it has benefits - an increase in pet minding. I'll be looking after a very cute cat for the next two weeks, and more dog walking.

Busy time at the moment, and two cats to mind in two separate homes over the next week. Their people are away on holiday...

I keep fish and have 4 tanks in my office and one in the family room. Here are my goldfish, with a Chinese algae eater in the top left corner. You can have them together as long as the temp doesn't drop below about 16 C overnight. To that end, I have a single heater set at 16 C which the algae eater can snuggle up with if he needs to. They are very happy together and I have no algae on the glass. Win/win! And by keeping the tank at a low stocking rate, I rarely do a water change - maybe once every couple of months.

So I met Rex and Rory on Sunday, and took them both for a walk on Monday. They are delightful dogs! Rory pulls a little on the lead, but Rex is a gentleman. I now have a regular gig with these two - twice weekly walks. And they are so loveable. This pic isn't Rex, but he does look a lot like this! He needs to lose some kilos and I'm happy to help him out. I will take some pics on my next visit.

If you book for the entire long weekend (Friday through to Monday), you can receive a $20 discount - $5 off per day. And pensioners of all types can have that discount as well as their 10% off. But get in fast - places are limited, especially if you need dog walking as well as feeding.

When is it a good idea to use pet minding at your own home, rather than using a boarding service?

Don't get me wrong - catteries and kennels can be really valuable, and if your pet likes the adventure of new places and being with other animals, that's great.

But what if your pet doesn't do well and gets stressed outside its territory? Or you have pets that can't be accommodated at a boarding establishment. (I haven't seen anywhere that will take reptiles, for example). Maybe you have pets you can't move - literally - because they are in a permanent enclosure such as a big fish tank, or outdoor pond, or aviary, or coop, or stable...

That's where pet minding comes in. And I seem to do a good job (even if I say so myself), because I'm passionate about animals and their care.

I still have some time available over the Easter holidays, so please get in touch if you need someone to take care of your precious pets.
