Someone for everyone ❤️🐈

Faith came into care after a difficult life on the streets. She arrived with a belly full of babies and in desperate need of help 😞

Luckily she was able to get the assistance she needed, delivering each of her kittens safe and well. But with each going on to grow up big and strong and find homes of their own, Faith was the only one left 👶🐈

As you have already noticed, there is something unique about this special lady. Faith is blind. She arrived with her eyes severely damaged and to avoid any further issues, both were removed. While this doesn’t affect her sweet and affectionate personality, she may need a little more time to settle in and find her way 🙏

She would be best suited to a home with no unexpected surprises with a family who can keep her safe indoors. While she gets around as best she can, she may occasionally bump into things but keeping her food and water bowls, litter tray and bed in the same place will help her navigate her new surroundings that much more 😌

Faith may not be able to see you, but will always be able to feel the love around her, easily finding her way to tasty treats, chin scratches and that special spot at the end of the bed ❤️

If you want to foster these two need a home !!

Thank you everyone who has taken the time to email us offering a foster home for these boys. They are in temp care with one of our existing carers atm as we needed a bit more time to find them a more permanent carer. We think we have a suitable carer who can take them in until they find their second-chance home and will respond to all emails within next 24 hours😊

They are arriving at our vets this morning and as we don't have kennels we need a foster carer asap please😊 (not suited to kennel situation anyway)🐕🐕🙏🤞

Sydney based carer required

These poppets are coming into care this week. They are quite uncertain, overwhelmed and fearful in the kennel environment and we would love to get them into an experienced home environment where they can blossom in their own time in a calm, loving,warm foster home. Whilst they’re showing positive signs the shelter environment is just too much for them.

Both males one about 18 months and one about 6 years. We would like them to go into care together initially whilst we assess their needs as they take comfort from each other.

Basic requirements

✔ Sydney based carer with access to a car and no more than about 40 minutes drive of our rescue vets at Beverly Hills for their vet work and follow up visits if needed.

✔ quieter residential area

✔ we understand that these boys have lived with multiple dogs so a home with another one or two small, friendly stable dogs would be ok

✔ a home without children under the age of approximately 12 years. As these boys are very timid/fearful in the shelter environment they need a quiet and calm foster home that will allow them the time and space to feel comfortable.
✔ a home that understands they need time to decompress and will give them time to do this, let them come to you so that they are not overwhelmed.

✔ A home that will permit them inside and allow them to sleep inside in a warm area of a night time. A home with a secure garden or courtyard would be beneficial, these boys are not used to the outside world and have never been walked on a leash so it is important they have a safe and secure outside area for toileting

✔ A home where they will get daily exercise and mental stimulation when they are ready.

✔ a home where carers are not away from home for very long periods of time.

✔ Good communication: we always seek carers who are easily contactable and can efficiently provide regular updates as needed.

We will of course provide any support needed including vet treatment at our expense

You may have heard that xylitol can be lethal to dogs. Due to human health benefits, this popular sugar substitute is being found more commonly in:

- Chewing gum
- Breath mints
- Sweets
- Cough syrup
- Oral hygiene products (toothpaste & mouthwash)
- Dietary supplements
- Desserts including ice creams
- Spreads including peanut butter
- Sugar free baked goods (cakes, muffins, cookies, pastries, etc)
- Bulk packs for cooking purposes

The Animal Poisons Helpline has created Australasia's first and only xylitol database. This allows our team to rapidly assist pet owners and veterinarians who may be dealing with dogs that have ingested xylitol containing products.

But we need your help!

If you have noticed xylitol (also known as birch sugar or sometimes written as E967) listed on any product, please let us know by commenting on this post with a photo of the product. If we do not yet have the product listed, our team will contact the manufacturer to quantify the xylitol content so that we can add it to our life-saving database.
